News Meliconi's GumBody Light Digital 6 controls up to six machines (22/6/2007) One of Europe's leading manufacturers of audio and video accessories, Italian based Meliconi is among the first to offer a universal and replacement remote control that can operate up to six machines of any brand. Six-in-one - and that includes Sky The GumBody Light Digital 6 takes all of the frustration out of searching for the right remote control. It will replace and combine up to six machines - TV, VCR, satellite, digital TV, DVD, home cinema, hi-fi, PS2, X-Box and an iPod and MP3 - while maintaining the same functions as the original device. And, cleverly, Meliconi's GumBody Light Digital 6 is the only remote that will also operate Sky, Sky+ and Sky HD set top boxes along with those from Virgin Media and Freeview and integrated receivers. Or you can assign the selection keys to appliances other than those suggested Meliconi's neat piece of kit looks the part and will not be out of place in any setting. It has a backlit keypad and can be easily operated even in a dark room. The keypad replicates all of the symbols and functions of the original Sky, Virgin Media and Freeview remote controls - whatever the original device was able to do GumBody Digital Light 6 will do the same, and offer easy and complete access to all secondary functions too. Future proof too With what Meliconi claim to be the largest database on the market for secondary functions, they can be memorised onto specific keys - and this makes Light Digital 6 the most prolific and comprehensive remote control currently on the market. And thanks to its 'LEARN' function it can also learn the signals of any original remote controls that might be issued in the future. With forty years of experience behind them, Meliconi is renowned for its painstaking research and development, one of its member companies, CME, having produced Italy's first ever replacement remote control in 1969 and EuropeÕs first universal remote control in 1992. Ergonomically designed, the impact-proof 6 mm thick soft rubber casing enhances grip and protects it from breaking when dropped - it just bounces! CD User Guide The instruction book is very clear and easy to understand - and each pack contains an even more intuitive interactive CD guide. Also is an on-line programming guide. It operates on 2 AA/LR06 batteries and a light indicator flashes when the batteries are low - programmed codes and functions are not lost during battery change. Why have six remotes when one will do the job so easily? The Meliconi GumBody Light Digital 6 is available from May 2007 and costs approximately £ 29.99.
