Logitech Brings Streamed Music to European Music Lovers (4/6/2007)

Stand B21, CEDIA UK Expo 2007

Award-winning Squeezebox showcased for first time at Cedia Expo 07

Logitech (SWX: LOGN) (NASDAQ: LOGI) today announced that the award-winning Logitech(r) Squeezebox(tm) now benefits from Logitech's pan-European distribution network, bringing it to stores across the region. As a result, it will soon be enjoyed more easily by music lovers all over Europe.

Logitech will be showcasing Squeezebox for the first time in the UK at the Cedia Expo 07 at London Excel on 26th-28th June. The company's distribution partners will also be at the show: Progressive AV for Squeezebox and Invision for Logitech's Harmony family of universal remote controls, which also raise interest amongst the custom installer community.

Sarah Waldmann, European product manager for digital music said: "Logitech is building on its strength in the fast moving personal peripherals market combined with its innovation in digital music and home-entertainment control, to bring new ways of listening to music and access to numerous online music services to everyone. The quality and variety of music offered by Squeezebox has been an open secret amongst audiophiles for some time. The secret is now out!"

Chris Spearing, country manager, Logitech UK said: "I have every confidence we can excite the installer market with our newly available Squeezebox, as well as our Harmony range which includes the new Harmony 1000. The Cedia Expo is a key event in our calendar and I'm sure it won't disappoint."

Previously only available online, the Squeezebox is an affordable way to stream premium-quality digital music and Internet radio wirelessly to any stereo in the home. It is a recent addition to Logitech's family of products that addresses the emerging market of wireless music systems. Its success to date among discerning audiophiles has been due to the quality of its audio and the flexibility of the software that powers it, improving every day in collaboration with a community of open source developers. Logitech's distribution network will now make Squeezebox available from the U.K. and Ireland to Israel and the Middle East; from Finland to South Africa.

Parks Associates estimates that 2006 revenues from music downloads, online radio and music-subscription services reached nearly $1 billion in the U.S. alone. It forecasts that amount to increase in the U.S. to over $3 billion annually by 2010. These figures do not include hardware revenues from necessary adapters and controllers, giving some indication of the potential value of the market Logitech is addressing.

The stylish Squeezebox enables people to play a wide variety of digital music files - including uncompressed and lossless formats - across a true 802.11g wireless network or Ethernet connection, freeing them from the restrictions of cables and connectors to enjoy their music. It looks great anywhere in the home, whether connected to a hi-fi system or powered speakers and plays formats including MP3, WMA, WAV, FLAC, AAC and Ogg.

As well as playing music from people's own music collections, Squeezebox includes a directory of thousands of Internet radio stations and features other online music services such as MP3tunes Music Locker, where you can store all your music collection and access it from any Squeezebox you own. The product allows access to all these Internet resources even without a computer.

Pricing and Availability

The award-winning Squeezebox is available as of now in selected shops across Europe at a suggested retail price of £219.99. Harmony 1000 is available now at a suggested street price of £279.99.
