H2M8 announces a range of new products for home automation systems and latest expansion plans (31/5/2007)

Stand E3, CEDIA UK Expo 2007

H2M8(tm) - a young dynamic company founded in the UK to develop and manufacture innovative home heating, security and other automation products. H2M8 provides truly affordable automation solutions that offer freedom in the choice of components and equipment used; flexibility in how the system is designed and installed; and future proofing in accommodating the needs of owners as their needs change during the life of the property.

H2M8, formerly known as O2M8 Ltd, announce additions to the WebBrick(r) family of automation products and services that include local controllers, computer systems, ancillary equipment and web-based services for home, heating, security and other automation solutions.

WebBrick Controller(tm) WB10B64 is the latest version of the local controller family which now includes direct control of dimming and scenes through rotary encoders, a serial port and support for RC5 infrared communications.

The WebBrick Gateway(tm) range is introduced today, adding devices and software which deliver user interfaces, security features, configuration tools and remote control of the premises from anywhere on the Internet.

WebBrick URPS(tm), also introduced today, is an ultra reliable power supply for use with WebBrick automation systems. The URPS continuously monitors and reports on its power supplies, and in the event of mains or DC power supply failure, the DIN-rail mountable unit switches in the battery to provide power to the system, and intelligently enables use of inverters while monitoring the further depletion of the batteries, to enable "last gasp" notification at long term total power failure.

Our WebBrick Services(tm), the first of which to be released in the autumn, will enhance the operation of WebBrick enabled premises. Among those services, we will provide backup of system configuration to enable rapid-turnaround support; further security of access and coordination of multiple premises, and enhanced communications capabilities by SMS, Email, and Mobile 'phones.

These new products will be made available to customers from late summer onwards. Preproduction versions can be seen at the CEDIA EXPO 2007 on H2M8 Stand E3.

John Guyatt, managing director at H2M8 comments "these announcements further demonstrate H2M8 commitment in developing an affordable, standards-based range of products and services for home heating, security and other automation systems. We will continue to invest in customer and partner projects that deliver eco-friendly solutions that can be economically installed into normal homes."

H2M8 has also further augmented its team with the involvement of Alistair Banks and Guy Reece who bring with them many years of experience from senior roles at Microsoft and Intel. H2M8's founders, former leaders from the high tech companies National Semiconductor and Content Technologies, look forward to strengthening the core team over the coming months as the company expands and accelerates its activities to meet growing customer demand.
