Invision UK expands technology view at CEDIA Expo (29/5/2007)

Stand B20, CEDIA UK Expo 2007

Leading home technology distributor Invision UK increases its show floor space yet again to give major brands full attention.

Some of the cutting edge audio and video technology on display this year at CEDIA show, London Excel stand B20 will be products from Internationally respected brands such as NetStreams(r), Polk Audio, ReQuest , Logitech and Liftbox NetStreams, the world leader in digital entertainment networks based on Internet Protocol (IP) technology, will be showing a working model of the DoorLinX DX100 IP-based doorbell and intercom module.

Featuring an integrated microphone, speaker, and matching doorbell unit, DoorLinX allows any MP3 audio file, including a recorded voice, to be used as a door chime and to have different sounds associated with different doors or points of entry. Designed for front door, back door, gate, garage, and any other entry areas where having two-way voice communication is a requirement or preference, the DoorLinX is available for use with the NetStreams DigiLinX Multi-Room Audio, Video and Control system.

Global audio brand Polk Audio known for producing class-leading architectural speakers for multi-room music and home cinema will have a prominent area on the stand showing a brand new series of subwoofers delivering powerful, accurate and musical bass. Built for power and value, the new models represent a continuing refinement of the highly regarded PSW Series and a great introduction to visceral home cinema bass performance.

Like all Polk drivers designed in the past few years, the PSW subwoofer drivers were designed with the help of a Klippel Distortion Analyzer, an advanced tool that uses laser technology to measure and optimize driver behavior under high output conditions. With the Klippel tool Polk engineers were able to maximize linearity, minimize distortion, flatten and extend frequency response.

ReQuest, the leader in digital music servers for home entertainment and media systems worldwide, is positioned for an exciting year with new products, updates to its powerful Serious Play software, increased CD storage capacity, and an unequalled level of compatibility with Apple's iTunes(r) software.

All ReQuest music servers now utilize the new Serious Play operating system, which brings numerous performance improvements as well as some important new features. A new "NetSync(tm) for iTunes(r)" plug-in automatically locates the music server on the home network and transfers music and play lists (and any user-edits of music "metadata") from iTunes to the ReQuest server. Conversely, recordings and play lists added to the ReQuest are seamlessly integrated into the iTunes library and ready for automatic synchronisation to iPods(r). Additionally, ReQuest's Automatic Dual Encoding (ADE) can be selected to transparently make two copies of each selection. One at a higher bit rate (or uncompressed) for full-resolution, serious listening at home, and a second, lower-bit rate encoding for ready transfer to iPods in compact size. The ADE can also be used for streaming off-site over the Internet enabling listening at remote locations such as the office, a second home, or during travel.

As usual the fantastic Logitech Harmony remotes will be present showing the new flagship Harmony 1000 which includes a striking, colour touch-sensitive screen. The Harmony 1000 remote is the interface that people crave for their home entertainment system - it's sleek, it's easy to use with its one-touch activity based control, and it comes without a prohibitive price!

Liftbox who design and manufacture modular sub cabinets which incorporate almost silent lift device systems for all types of screens from Plasma to LCD's will have a working model of its highly successful B2L which can hold a 50" plasma.

In all, the Invision UK stand B20 is a 'must see' experience for anyone serious about home technology, so visit the stand, meet the experts and more importantly see the products that will change the way you do business.
