AWE Showcases Latest Additions to its Portfolio of Market Leading Brands and Offers Installers the Drive of their Lives! (23/5/2007)

Stands D14 and D15, CEDIA UK Expo 2007

* Pronto Professional Training * First European Trade Showing of Pioneer G8 Plasma * UK Version of Pioneer Blu-Ray on Show for First Time * 1080p & networking Demo Room * Chances to Win a Place on Motorsport Sensation Race Day *

AWE, the top AV equipment distributor to the UK custom installation trade, will demonstrate innovations from its portfolio of market leading brands on stands D14 and D15 at CEDIA Expo 2007. These include the latest software updates on Philips Pronto, now exclusively available from AWE, and a range of first showing products from Pioneer, Cineversum, Onkyo and others.

Visitors will be able to get to grips with all the latest products in the range including the ground breaking Philips TSU-9600 Pronto touchscreen remote. This device offers a class leading 3.7" colour VGA touchscreen, is fully programmable and customisable via PC and IP, RS232 + IR extendable. The IR learning range has been extended and now covers frequencies from 25kHz to 1MHz. As well as IR output, the unit can send its commands via WiFi to a wireless IR extender via a direct WiFi connection or a wireless network. Reliability issues that other brands face over wi-fi have been overcome with an enhanced Protocol exclusively developed by Philips. The unit can also communicate with a serial extender which allows for 2-way communication with feedback given for full real time system control from a wide range of products. A new version of the ProntoEdit software comes as standard and includes a massive code library, mostly supplied by the manufacturers themselves, and an advanced Software Developers Kit for besoke software customisation. Hands on Philips Pronto demos will be available on the Stand throughout the Expo with daily Trade Supplier Training also provided.

"CEDIA Expo 2007 will undoubtably be our most impressive yet with installers getting the chance to interact with all the latest, brand-leading products from AWE" says Stuart Tickle, MD of AWE and CEDIA Expo Chair. "The new Pronto range brings high end functionality, reliability and, aesthetics to custom installation companies wanting to maximize the growing mid market. On top of this we're really excited about the Pioneer's G8 plasma's which are by far the best screens we have seen. The ground breaking black level reproduction makes other screens look positively pale in comparison, and the high quality video processing employed is extremely effective."

"The matching Blu-Ray player is from the stylish gloss black LX series of equipment and is designed to out-perform all other players including cinema format 24 fps output, ideal for the latest G8 plasma's" he adds. "Plus, installers will have a chance to win a driving spot on our legendary Motorsport Sensation driving day - the AWE stand is looking like the place to be!"

To promote the forthcoming AWE Pioneer Motorsport Sensation, a Formula Palmer Audi single-seater race car will bring extra excitement to the stand. In the run up to Expo installers can earn points for every Pioneer plasma bought. Each plasma purchase is worth between 40-120 points and every 40 points clocked up means a place in the draw, giving even more chances to win one of the 40 places! In addition to this, AWE are offering a special Expo promotion whereby every installer who visits the AWE stand (D14 & 15) will have the opportunity to enter the draw for a race day place. |For those still desperate for a place on the high-octane event, a raffle ticket purchased at the CEDIA Expo party (Wednesday 27th June) could be just the answer! AWE have generously donated the final place as a prize in the charity raffle that is being held to raise funds for the Make-a-Wish Foundation who grant magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening illnesses. AWE is showcasing a selection of its screens portfolio with the Pioneer G8 Plasma being unveiled for the first time at a European trade event, whilst the 103" plasma from Panasonic is quite simply astounding to see. Also on show will be the latest AV products from Onkyo, Yamaha and Denoin and the UK version of the Pioneer Blu-Ray will be premiered in a 1080p demo room featuring Cineversum's stunning Blackwing Two projector, all controlled by Pronto and with two way Imerge communication. The Blackwing Two is a full HD, medium sized projector that features three D-ILA 0.7 chips with 1920 x 1080 resolution. The result is an extremely smooth and stable picture with superb colour resolution and black reproduction combined with an excellent dealer strategy retaining full margin for retailers and CI's alike. The Cineversum scalers will also be on show which offer increased connectivity and performance to all systems.
