News KNX UK Promotes New Standard for Intelligent Buildings (30/4/2007) KNX UK has now been established. The organisation has the principal aim of promoting KNX (formerly known as EIB) as the recognised open Internetworking Communication Standard for the control of building services applications within all types of residential and commercial buildings. The KNX UK Association is part of the vast network of international KNX Associations with the headquarters in Belgium. The UK Association has ten founder members, including seven product suppliers and three systems integrators. The technology and services of these organisations will also be promoted by KNX UK in order to help create more business opportunities and take a larger share of the fast growing market for intelligent building products. Hugh Whalley of Siemens Automation & Drives has been appointed President of KNX UK and Darren Burford of Andromeda Telematics is Vice President. Full details of KNX technology and the vast range of KNX products available, which fully comply with EN 50090 the European Standard for Home and Building Electronic Systems are available from KNX UK. KNX is the new designation of EIB (European Installation Bus). The KNX standard is a system for building and home control and automation which is fully compliant to EN 50090, the European Standard for building and home Electronic Systems. The KNX registration mark is the guarantee of conformance of any product to EN 50090. KNX UK promotes KNX products and services available from its member companies in the UK.
