LINDY launches 2 Port HDMI switch (27/4/2007)

LINDY Electronics today announced the launch of its new 2 Port HDMI Switch, a compact unit that allows 2 HDMI devices to be connected to a single HDMI or DVI input on a high definition TV, projector or other suitably equipped device.

The LINDY HDMI 2 Port Switch solves the common problem of having only one HDMI or DVI input on many of the display devices available today and removes the need for users to physically swap cables between HDMI/DVI input devices. Now users need only to press a button on the top of the unitās neatly designed case.

Fully HDMI compliant, the unit utilises the same advanced digital switching technology as the LINDY 3 Port HDMI Switch Remote and therefore supports high definition video resolutions of up to 1080p, multi-channel digital audio and HDCP. However, its compact size and affordable price makes it suitable for use in many applications including demonstration, education, advertising and of course, home cinema installations.

"LINDY's 3 Port HDMI Switch Remote very quickly became a best seller, which demonstrates that there is a real need for this type of product," comments Stephen Fawcett, Senior Product Manager of LINDY Electronics. "But many applications only require two ports and, in some cases, a remote control is not really a necessity. The LINDY HDMI 2 Port switch is HDCP compliant and supports cable runs of up to 30m (15m in, 15m out). It comes complete with a 5V power supply.
