News Siemens integrate EIB technology into its Crabtree Platinum range of wiring accessories (14/4/2007) Following the acquisition of Electrium Sales Limited by Siemens, major developments have taken place integrating Siemens EIB technology into the Crabtree premium range of wiring accessories 'Crabtree Platinum'. Electrium are currently well established in the industry with their successful brands Crabtree, Volex and Wylex. This now positions Siemens 'Smart Home Technology' as the leader within the UK, enabling the EIB technology to be integrated into a British standard switch. Prior to this development, only European style switches were available for the UK market which, in most cases, failed to match with existing accessories installed in the home. The Crabtree Platinum range also incorporates a 'Flatplate' which means an aesthetically friendly screwless profile for the customer. Hugh Whalley, Business Manager Siemens Gamma Intelligent Building Products, commented: "The Crabtree Platinum EIB range of products has undergone a real advancement in its appeal to the consumer. Consumers are very focused on having matching accessories within their homes even down to the smallest detail. The fact that EIB technology has now made this range accessible to such a demanding market is very good news."
