Lyngdorf Audio ApS Acquires Kuusama Design Oy (9/4/2007)

Lyngdorf Audio ApS in Skive, Denmark, has acquired Kuusama Design Oy, based in Tampere, Finland, in order to expand its operations and product development to encompass multi-channel audio decoding for home theatres.

Lyngdorf Audio ApS was founded in 2005 and has grown rapidly from employing a handful of people to nearly 50 employees, of which half are working in R&D developing new innovative sound system solutions. Lyngdorf Audio is the world leader in the areas of full digital amplification, advanced digital signal processing for room correction and specialized speaker systems. The ground-breaking room correction system RoomPerfect(tm) has already distinguished itself as being the most innovative room correction system in the market. Lyngdorf Audio technology can be found not only in Lyngdorf audio stereo music systems, but will also be available in 2007 as OEM solutions for new customers in extreme high-end music systems and professional audio products.

Kuusama Design Oy was founded by Juha Kuusama in 2003 as a specialized OEM design house for home theatre products. The current design group will now join forces with the parent company to create new Lyngdorf Audio multi-channel products. Juha Kuusama will continue as the CEO and chief designer of Lyngdorf Audio Oy. The combined R&D resources of the two newly-joined companies will make it the largest high fidelity design group in Europe.

Kuusama Design Oy will change its name to Lyngdorf Audio Oy and will expand its operations in Tampere by combining its multi-channel decoder technology with the unique RoomPerfect(tm) room correction system and full digital amplification technology from Lyngdorf Audio ApS. Combining the technologies from both companies will create unique products for home theatres that simply do not exist today - the intelligence and performance of RoomPerfect(tm) and the astonishing capabilities of Lyngdorf's new generation speaker systems will redefine the state of the art in the sector.

It is the strategy of Lyngdorf Audio ApS to prove new technologies in Lyngdorf products before offering these to OEM customers. Lyngdorf Audio Oy will continue this strategy and will offer significant, advanced home theatre technologies to other high-end manufacturers by 2008, a practice that is expected to deliver significant benefits to customers.
