News Smart-e showcases major developments to its SNX switches at CEDIA Expo 2007 (2/4/2007) Stand J5a, CEDIA UK Expo 2007 UK audio and video distribution equipment company Smart-e Limited will be exhibiting at the CEDIA Expo 2007 to showcase major improvements, including 'plasma-friendly eyes' and a Local Audio Output facility, to its sought-after SNX series of HD compatible multi-format video matrix switches. The company will also be running manufacturer product training at the Show, on Wednesday 27th June, between 10.00 and 11.00.
The company's extensive range of switches, which start with the SNX-4x4 offering 4 outputs/4 inputs, extend to the SNX-256x256 which provides an astonishing 256 outputs/256 inputs, are all HD compatible and combine high bandwidth video (400MHz) and high quality stereo audio switching with integral CAT 5* structured cabling distribution. The SNX-8x8 has become the most popular Smart-e matrix for residential applications, as it provides a cost-effective way of delivering professional high quality images and sound from DVD players, set-top boxes, video cameras, laptops and PCs, to flat LCD and plasma screens, cinematic projectors and VGA monitors. The SNX-8x8 together with Smart-e's entire range of video distribution switches has recently been upgraded with the following major enhancements: 1. 'Plasma-friendly eyes' - a filtering system which substantially reduces the effect of infra-red interference emitted from large plasma and LCD screens, has been fitted as standard to all Smart-e video distribution switches. The improved infra-red control provides an easier system for AV designers and installers as there is now no need for the expense of additional equipment to counteract interference, which has become a major problem with the emergence of very large plasma and LCD screens. 2. Smart-e has increased the infra-red control distance between handset and screen, allowing viewers to be located further from the screen, and as the system allows for wide-bandwith infra-red passthrough, it is compatible with an extensive variety of infra-red protocols and handsets. 3. The Local Audio Output facility, designed for multiple audio systems, which allows TV audio to be directly connected to speakers, has also been added to the company's SNX range. The system allows a line level audio output direct from the matrix to output via CAT 5* cabling, a particular advantage for multi-media audio systems where wall and ceiling speakers require cable connected directly to the amplifier housed in the control equipment room. Smart-e will also be announcing at the show new dates for its Accredited Installer programme which is a one-day training course providing AV installers with the knowledge and practical experience to design and install complex AV solutions within the home and commercial environment. On successful completion of the course participants benefit from inclusion on the company's website as an Accredited Installer. Visitors to the show can get a 'taster' of the programme by attending Smart-e's manufacturer training which is being run at CEDIA between 10.00 and 11.00 on Wednesday 27th June. Well known for its purple coloured AV distribution equipment, Smart-e Limited designs and manufactures a range of point-to-point, point-to-multipoint and multipoint-to-multipoint professional AV distribution and switching equipment that transmits via CAT 5* cable, which amongst other benefits is quick and easy to install, enables superior transmission and provides a robust network for all types of AV solutions. With an emphasis on research and development, backed by the company's broadcasting heritage, Smart-e keeps ahead of technology, providing easy-to-install solutions for all types of environments, from home cinemas, to corporate boardrooms and educational uses, as well as applications for Digital Signage for shopping malls and other public areas.
