News Kimber Kable Introduces Flagship Kimber Select KS-1036 Interconnect (28/3/2007) Russ Andrews are pleased to introduce the new Kimber Kable top-of-the-range analogue interconnect, the Kimber Select KS-1036. Using 'Black Pearl' silver conductors, the finest purity silver used in a Kimber cable, the KS-1036 is a no compromise interconnect for the most demanding of systems. Compared with its predecessor, the KS-1030, there are 50% more conductors, which are applied simultaneously with the cable skin around Kimber's proprietary X38R central core compound, to ensure that the conductors are locked in place and precise cable geometry is preserved at all times. The increase in conductors acts to reduce the resistance within the cable and enhances Kimber's famous braided geometry, which is effective in reducing the effects of RF interference. An application of high-pressure, low-temperature V-Teflon(r) dielectric and the utilisation of the X38R core compound aids the reduction in signal distorting influences. Secure electrical and mechanical connection to the electronics is via the new WBT-0102 Ag nextgen(tm) connectors with 'passivated' pure silver conductors. With the body of the plug being machined from a solid block of platinum coated brass to provide additional electromagnetic shielding, these are the finest WBT plugs yet produced. Russ Andrews, Managing Director, said of the new cable: "This is the most detailed, smooth, natural and musical sounding interconnect I've yet heard. It has a sweet, but uncoloured transparent sound, which will enhance the enjoyment of music in the highest resolution systems." Prices and availability Kimber Select KS-1036 interconnect: 0.5m £1090, 1m £1700 Available in the UK from April 2007, exclusively from Russ Andrews Accessories with a 60 day money back guarantee if not entirely satisfied.
