The Chord Company launches Lo-Pro HDMI cable (7/3/2007)

Known as 'Lo-Pro', the Chord HDMI Low Profile HDMI cable has been designed to offer a high performance solution for connecting HDMI equipped plasma and LCD televisions to media boxes, audio video processors, DVDs and satellite boxes.

The flat profile design was chosen so that the cable will sit unobtrusively against a wall. This makes the cable an ideal choice for installations where the screen sits on top of a rack, with the equipment below.

The cable design was chosen to minimise interference and features highly effective shielding in combination with a low density insulation material and oxygen free copper conductors.

The plug surround has been kept to a minimum as so much equipment features closely spaced HDMI sockets The HDMI plug is gold-plated for reasons of improved connectivity and longevity.

Lo-Pro is not a replacement for Chord's award-winning HDMI Silver Plus cable. Overall the performance of Lo-Pro, although highly competitive, is not as good as Silver Plus especially over longer runs.

The Chord HDMI Lo-Pro is available in 1, 3 and 5 metre lengths. The retail prices are £49.95; £69.95 and £89.95 respectively.
