AMX Expands Matrix Distributed Audio Line with New Amplifiers (2/2/2007)
Integrated Systems Europe 2007
New Amplifiers Support Up to 12 Additional Pairs of Speakers per Audio Zone
AMX(r), a worldwide leader in advanced control system technology, has expanded its Matrix Distributed Audio line with the launch of a new family of modular amplifiers. The Carbon XA2 and Carbon XA4 extend the number of speakers supported by each Matrix audio zone by as many as 12 additional speaker pairs. Both amplifiers will be demonstrated in AMX booth C30 at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE), being held Jan. 30 - Feb. 1 in Amsterdam.
"AMX's Matrix solutions integrate multiple music sources - from AM/FM tuners and satellite receivers to CD and MP3 players - into one, easy-to-use system that can be accessed from anywhere in the home," said Robert Noble, AMX chief technology officer. "By adding amplifiers to the product line, AMX is providing a new level of flexibility and power for our users."
The CarbonXA2 is a four channel amplifier that supports two speaker pairs, while the Carbon XA4 is an eight channel amplifier that supports four speaker pairs. Both products provide 60 watts of sound per channel and support 8 and 4 Ohm speakers. Like all of the products in the Matrix line, both Carbon Amplifiers include AMX's advanced Speaker Wire Technology for simple, plug-and-play installation.
AMX's Matrix Controller line includes two product families - the Delta Series and the Mi Series. The Delta Series is an affordable, multi-zone audio distribution system that can control and distribute audio from as many as six sources and up to six zones. The Mi Series is a customizable system that is tailored to meet the unique needs of each homeowner; it is available in four and eight source varieties and can support up to 64 zones. Up to three Carbon amplifiers can be added to each Delta or Mi Series system zone for as many as 12 speaker pairs per audio zone.
The CarbonXA2 and CarbonXA4 will be available within 90 days.
