Ingenium Lands in the UK! (29/1/2007)

Ingenium, a Spanish company based in NW Spain, will have its UK launch at the Smart Home Show in Birmingham this March, together with its UK distributor, Smart3.

Ingenium designs and manufactures the Ingenium range of home automation devices and touchscreens. It is also the company behind the BUSing(r) communications protocol. This enables all connected devices to 'talk' to each other and allows the user to access their installation with elegant, intuitive touchscreens, or remotely via PDAs, mobiles, or the Internet.

A range of over 100 products is available for either cabled or wireless BUSing(r) installation, offering complete solutions for residential and commercial buildings.

The strength of the Ingenium system lies in the flexibility and easy programming of BUSing(r), and the modular nature of the system. With cabled systems, BUSing(r) works up to a distance of 1km, meaning there is ample room for movement and growth. For wireless, the system works as a mesh and between each wireless node there is a recommended limit of 10-15m (or 60m in open spaces).

System devices can be added at any time, growing with the client's requirements. Each device also operates as a stand-alone unit, meaning there is no central or master unit or ugly black box to hide in the cupboard under the stairs.

The system is completely flexible, allowing the client to start with just the 'moods' or 'alarms' touchscreen interface for example, then perhaps progress on to heating and window treatment controls as their needs develop.

Compared with similar bus systems, installers find that programming BUSing(r) is refreshingly simple and convenient - programming can be done locally, with any later modifications able to be done remotely. Installers are also pleasantly surprised by the low cost of the system.

According to Jorge Ruiz-Olivares Pérez, Telecommunications Engineer and Director of Teldom Ingenieros S.L. who uses Ingenium products exclusively for his projects, "Quality and efficiency are attributes that any company may possess, but Ingenium adds to these a friendly and professional service, encouraging you to share in its success."

Ingenium in the UK

The Ingenium wireless range will be on show at the Smart Home Show in Birmingham, 22-25 March, on the Ingenium/Smart3 stand, No414. Among the many functions visitors will be able to try out is the ability to use video-entry phones and see the images on the Ingenium full colour touchscreen.
