Runco International, the leaders in home video display and technology, has established a new threshold for flat panels with the launch of the new XP-65DHD plasma display monitor. At 65" diagonal and 1080p native resolution, Runco's XP-65DHD is the industry's first plasma display to achieve THX(r) certification* for video quality and performance, and is Runco's largest and highest resolution plasma to date.

The XP-65DHD takes all bragging rights as it thrusts picture quality to a whole new level, boasting Runco's brightest picture, best contrast ratio, deepest black levels and tightest high definition coloremtry ever. In addition, the XP-65DHD hits a new milestone with sophisticated 16-bit digital video processing which results in 4096 steps of graduation for seamless images, completely void of the primitive "solarization" and "stair stepping" characteristics plaguing entry level plasma displays.

The XP-65DHD is accompanied by Runco's acclaimed outboard DHD with HDMI Digital Video Controller/Processor to provide a pure digital signal path from input to output as well as a broad array of video input choices for optimum compatibility with a broad range of source components. For added elegance, the DHD can be positioned in the equipment rack, with only digital video and command cables running to the display itself. Using the HDMI inputs on the DHD make the XP-65DHD compatible with all ATSC HD resolutions, including 1080p 24, 30 and 60.

The XP-65DHD features discrete multiple aspect ratio control including Runco's VirtualWide(tm) for viewing 4:3 content in widescreen without appreciable picture degradation. The automation interface includes RS-232 control with discrete aspect ratio, input and power on/off selection.

Runco has engineered Imaging Science Foundation (ISF(tm)) calibration standards into every model for the purest video performance.

The XP-65DHD not only represents a leap forward in high definition flat panel technology, but Runco's engineering advances in plasma design ensure that it will enjoy a long life in any installation, with operation extending to as much as 60,000 hours.
