News Vidikron Ships Single-Chip 1080p Projectors (26/1/2007) Stand F110, Integrated Systems Europe 2007 Launching one of the largest 1080p projector lineups in the industry at CEDIA, Vidikron's Vision Models 70 and 85 are delivering the ultimate in HD, 1080p, and 2.35:1 widescreen viewing. Vidikron, the world leader in design and manufacturing of home cinema video display technologies, first introduced four new 1080p DLP(tm) projectors at CEDIA 2006. Launching one of the industry's largest 1080p lineups, Vidikron is proud to announce the single-chip Vision Model 70 and 85 are now shipping; bringing the ultimate in high definition playback and superwide CinemaScope(tm) viewing to home cinemas of distinction. Incorporating the most advanced engineering in high definition 1080p, DLP(tm) technology, Vidikron's new 1920 x 1080 (1080p) single-chip projectors, the Vision Model 70 and 85, reproduce exceptional images with rich colors, deep black levels and refined detail. The Vision 70 is the most affordable and versatile, featuring a newly designed lamp cooling system and DualV Stage Illumination System (DVSI(tm)) for multiple lamp intensities to achieve the best picture across a range of installation choices, desired screens and materials. The Vision 85 is the highest performance single-chip projector in the lineup, with a state of the art light engine, sophisticated color balancing, and the industry's best grey scale tracking. As the launch licensee for the THX(r) Certified Display Program for home cinema video products, Vidikron's Vision Model 85 achieves the rigorous video display standards for home cinemas as determined by THX; the Vision 85 joins the company's acclaimed 720p Vision Models 90t and 100t, as the world's first THX Certified video display products. Each new model includes Vidikron's exclusive all-digital Imagix(tm) video processing which is integrated into the Model 70. Offering increased installation flexibility, the Vision Model 85 offers an outboard video processor/controller, providing pure HDMI(tm) digital connections from input to light engine for stellar pictures while facilitating all source connections at the equipment rack to reduce wiring complexity. For the most discerning video aficionados, Vidikron's award-winning CineWide(tm) and CineWide(tm) with AutoScope(tm) technologies are available options; the Vision 85 provides a fixed CineWide option, and the 70 is available with both the fixed version and the motorized AutoScope option. Bringing the ultimate widescreen cinema experience into the home, CineWide's proprietary combination of software, electronics and precision anamorphic optics, properly displays movies filmed in the CinemaScope 2.35:1 aspect ratio. CineWide fills the entire screen with 2.35 imagery, successfully eliminating distracting "black bars" from the top and bottom of the screen while maintaining constant vertical screen height. With CineWide technology no resolution is lost because every pixel on the DLP imaging chips is used. Both new 1080p models have ample input connections for seamless component integration, including HDMI digital video interfaces and RS-232 control connectivity. As always, Vidikron projectors are engineered to meet the exacting standards of the Imaging Science Foundation (ISF(tm)) - ensuring pristine video fidelity, accurate gray scale tracking and brilliant color reproduction no matter the source.
