Two-way System Integrator from iLight gives feedback to users (23/1/2007)

Stand J10, Integrated Systems Europe 2007

The new System Integrator module from iLight can now send information in both directions. Being launched at the Integrated Systems Europe show in January 2007, it enables visual feedback of operational information to be displayed to the user.

When controlling multi-room audio systems for example, information on the tracks currently playing can be displayed on an LCD touch screen or other control unit. Previously, devices could be controlled, but without feedback being provided to the user.

The System Integrator enables iLight's iCAN system to control devices other just lighting. Using programmable RS232 commands, the node allows control of a wide range of third party RS232 compatible equipment, such as multi-room audio systems, TVs, projectors, blinds, curtains, HVAC systems, fire alarms, surveillance equipment and CCTV. Data for these types of equipment can now be passed in both directions.

The new unit exchanges data between iLight's iCAN network and external third party equipment, enabling other devices to be activated from a single control panel or handheld remote control. For home cinema operation for example, a single touch of a button can start the sequence of dimming lights, closing blinds, turning on the audio system, lowering the screen, turning on the projector and starting a DVD.

Configuration is quick and simple by adding the relevant control strings. It can be triggered by a button push on the touch screen or any control panel throughout the home or office. Integration of systems in this way alleviates the "wall acne" of multiple control panels and enables the user to control exactly what they want from one easy to use and compact panel.

iLight has partnerships with all the main home system suppliers, sharing information to allow seamless integrated control.

iLight can be found on Stand J10, Hall 1 at the Integrated Systems Europe exhibition in Amsterdam from 30 January to 1 February 2007.
