News Armour opens office in Hong Kong (22/1/2007) Armour Home Electronics is pleased to announce it is opening offices in Hong Kong in January 2007. The facility, which overlooks Hong Kong's Happy Valley race course, comprises administrative offices, meeting rooms and a fully fitted showroom for Armour's product portfolio. Heading the operation is Darrell Huggins, who has many years experience working in Far Eastern countries. He moves from his senior position in AHE's Business Development Team, to take up the newly created role of General Manager, Armour Asia. Asked why Armour had made this investment? Mr Huggins replied: "We've been contemplating this move for some time and currently business conditions are very favourable. Armour trades extensively in the Asia-Pacific region, both as a purchaser of raw materials and manufactured goods and as a seller of finished branded products. We've now achieved a level of business that comfortably justifies establishing this local facility." Glenn McClelland, Armour Home Electronics' Managing Director, added: "This is another step on our path of planned expansion in international markets. We are now actively involved in 27 countries and are seeing sales growing at 20% p.a." He went on to say: "Darrell and his team will pursue opportunities for both our Home Electronics and Automotive divisions, acting as a conduit for our ever expanding R&D department and working more closely with component suppliers. In addition they will showcase new products as they are developed and open up new sales channels throughout the region."
