News SpeakerCraft announces European Debut of the AIM Cinema DiPole in-wall loudspeaker at ISE 2007 (17/1/2007) Stand J108, Integrated Systems Europe 2007 SpeakerCraft, the world's leading manufacturer of custom installed loudspeakers, announces the AIM Cinema DiPole, a specialised rear-channel in-wall loudspeaker with a unique baffle design. In the AIM Cinema DiPole, SpeakerCraft has created an in-wall speaker designed to reproduce the authentic surround ambience of commercial cinemas. It employs an innovatively-shaped, patented baffle and driver configuration to generate genuinely immersive surround effects with the dˇcor-enhancing advantage of in-wall location. Each speaker has two 5 1/4 -inch woofers and two 1-inch dome tweeters placed 50 degrees off-axis from each other. Two switch-able settings allow the speaker to operate either in bi-pole or dipole mode. In dipole mode there is a circuit to retain bass response, which would normally be lost by cancellation of the two woofers. "The drivers are mounted in a baffle that has been carefully moulded with graceful curves and angles to avoid any sharp reflections" remarked Jeff Francisco, SpeakerCraft's Vice-president of Engineering. "The result is a piece of acoustic artwork that is impressive in both its style and its performance." There are three AIM Cinema DiPole models. AIM Cinema DiPole One uses graphite woofers and silk tweeters and is timbre-matched with all One series speakers. AIM Cinema DiPole Three uses aluminium woofers and tweeters, has ±3dB of bass and treble adjustment and is timbre-matched with all Three series speakers. AIM Cinema DiPole Five uses Kevlar woofers, aluminium/magnesium tweeters, has ±3dB of bass and treble adjustment and is timbre-matched with all Five series speakers.
