Earthquake Sound Announces New Cinénova-16 16-Channel Multi-Zone Amplifier (11/1/2007)

Capable of providing power to up to eight standard zones or four high-power zones (plus additional configurations), Earthquake's new Cinénova-16 amplifier features sophisticated bus operation, bridging options, and much more

Earthquake Sound Corporation, a leading manufacturer of award-winning amplifiers, subwoofers, and other high-end home-theater audio products, announced that it has expanded its well-established line of Cinénova amplifiers with the delivery of the Cinénova Grande 16-channel amp.

The Cinénova-16 is the fourth addition to Earthquake's Cinénova Grande line of power amplifiers. The line is geared to both custom installers and audiophiles alike. Built with the same integrity, innovation, and passion of the original Cinénova Grande, the new multi-zone amplifiers far outstrip everyday amps with their clever features and user-friendly designs.

The new Cinénova-16 is a high-performance 16-channel balanced amplifier designed for professional and high-end consumer audio, audio/video, and home-theater systems. This multi-zone amp adds to Earthquake's Cinénova line at a very important middle price point, making the Cinénova line even more complete for the custom retailer/installer.

With the shipping of the Cinénova-16, Earthquake dealers now have access to an exceptionally well-rounded and powerful lineup of three unique power-amplifier alternatives. Between the three current models (with retail prices ranging from $3,500 to $6,000), dealers are now able to satisfy the requirements of every client and every installation with 5-channel, 7-channel, and 16-channel models. When it comes to performance and innovation in both analog and digital technologies, Earthquake's Cinénova line of amplifiers is unmatched.

Rated at 75 watts RMS per channel (75 x 16) into 8 ohms, the new feature-rich Cinénova-16 is powerful enough for almost any distributed-audio application, yet it is only two rack spaces high.

Earthquake's Cinénova-16 can be configured in several different ways for different applications for various rooms and/or zones. This makes it much more flexible than any other amplifier in its price range. It can supply power to eight rooms (zones) in stereo with 75 watts (RMS) per channel. It is also capable of creating a true and complete 8-channel bridged system with 250 watts (RMS) per channel, a unique feature in this category.

Its flexibility also allows it to put out 200 watts (RMS) of power in stereo into one room, while, at the same time, putting power into an additional six rooms with 75 watts (RMS) per channel. Each two-channel set of the Cinénova-16 may be bridged into one channel to produce 200 watts (RMS) of output power per channel.

With its total of 16 channels of power well fitted to providing power to in-wall and in-ceiling speakers throughout a home, Earthquake's Cinénova-16 offers advanced features such as audio sensing, stereo/mono bussing, and triggered inputs and outputs to make it the best audio, AV, home-theater, and multi-room/zone amplifier in its price range.

Additionally, each of the Cinénova Grande-16's channels also features an audio-loop output that makes it easy to create stereo and mono sub-zones. This enables installers and owners to route independent channels of audio to additional amplifiers or to audio processors.

Individual channel-level adjustments allow owners to fine-tune each channel's level with precision potentiometers. Earthquake's Cinénova-16 features individual channel-gain controls with infrared remote control for each room or zone. Removable and locking speaker terminals make for quick and secure speaker connections.

Each channel of the amplifier has a bus that allows installers to individualize component setup for each room. The Cinénova-16 uses a bi-file power supply (an Earthquake innovation) for maximum power and signal separation. Gold-plated binding posts are used for maximum current. Other features include RCA inputs, 12-volt input trigger, fused indicators, and LED status indicators.

The Cinénova Grande 16-channel amplifier carries an MSRP of $3,499.00.
