Computers, Cameras, Televisions, Displays and Projectors are all Going Wireless with one of Several New Solutions from Gefen (4/1/2007)

Stand O60, Integrated Systems Europe 2007

Reliable cable free extension is becoming a reality for solutions provider, Gefen. The connectivity manufacturer announces three wireless solutions at IS Europe, two already in production and one slated for distribution in the first quarter of 2007.

While each model differs in features and application, each operates with the same basic format: a sender device connects to the signalÕs source, and a receiver connects to the signalÕs extended destination. The cables that traditionally connect sender to receiver are replaced by alternative cable-free methods, best suited to the signalÕs format.

Wireless USB Extender

This redesigned and reengineered model allows any four USB devices to operate with the computer, connected with no cables, up to 60-feet in distance line of sight or 30-feet through a wall. Sender is a small, plug-in dongle connected to the computerÕs USB port. It features Wisair TechnologiesÕ ultra wide band wireless capability operating in the 3.5Ghz range. Receiver is a four-port hub capable of transfer rates up to 400 Mbps. Any USB device, including printers, digital cameras, scanners, USB storage devices and any peripheral with USB ports, can operate wirelessly off the USB hub.

Wireless Component Audio Extender

This wireless extension system delivers pure HD video and audio up to 200-feet through two walls or 300-feet line of sight. Small sender and receiver units offer support for component video inputs and outputs, delivering HD video in resolutions ranging from 480i to 1080i. Each unit supports both analog and digital audio, which accompanies the video, creating a captivating HD experience. Based on the Multiband OFDM standard but in a different frequency range, this sender/receiver system features an IR back channel for remote control.

Wireless for HDMI Extender

Radio signals transmit HD video and audio from compact sender (source) to receiver (television) located up to 30-feet away (line of sight) with flawless resolutions up to 1080i. Based on ultra wideband technology by Tzero Technologies, this system supports HDMI sources, outputting HD video with accompanying digital audio to any HDMI display. The Wireless for HDMI Extender produces a flawless output of HD video, and allows consumers to eliminate the unsightly tangle of cables in their home theater environments. Wireless transmission speed reach up to 400 Mbps, supporting even the most stringent demands of HD video. The system is controlled by IR remote control.
