Genelec launches AIW25 and AIC25 In-Wall and In-Ceiling Loudspeakers (22/12/2006)

Genelec oy, a leading pioneer of active monitoring systems, has launched three new 'aesthetic' loudspeaker systems with the needs of the professional installation market in mind. This further underscores Genelec's commitment to the high-end home theatre and custom installation market.

Two models in the new active monitoring range: the AIW25 and AIC25, can be hidden behind walls or in celings and so are ideal for situations where clients would prefer not to see monitor housing. The third model, the AOW312, is an on-wall monitoring system (see separate release).

The AIW25 Active In-Wall, and the AIC25 Active In-Ceiling systems are the ultimate in design integration, offering as to be expected, Genelec's superb and uncompromising acoustic performance. Each features a perfectly matched, separate RAM2 remote amplifier module, which, when used with a single 4U high RAM Rack Adaptor, can accommodate up to 8 RAM amplifiers.

The AIW25 and AIC25 both come complete with enclosures to maximize performance and ease of installation. New construction brackets are also available. In addition, the AIW25 employs GenelecÕs proprietary Directivity Control Waveguide(tm) (DCW(tm)), which ensures excellent stereo imaging and frequency balance even in difficult acoustic environments.

The AIW25 Active In-Wall Loudspeaker fits into a standard 2 x 4" wall structure and can easily be retrofitted to existing construction. This speaker is ideal in demanding applications such as the main L-C-R array of a small home theatre system, a critical stereo configuration, or rear/side channels of a medium-size high quality home theatre.

The AIW25 is a two-way active loudspeaker with a 130mm (5") bass driver and 19mm (3/4") treble driver equipped with GenelecÕs DCW. It also features a RAM2 remote amplifier module, which includes active crossover circuitry and separate, matched 30 Watt power amplifiers for the bass and treble drivers. The model has a frequency response of 70Hz to 18kHz (+/-2.5dB) and a maximum peak SPL of 110 dB. Dimensions are 360mm H x 267mm W x 104mm D. In addition, visible parts of the loudspeaker can be painted to suit the listening environment.

The AIC25 Active In-Ceiling Loudspeaker delivers low distortion and has high sound pressure handling capabilities, yet comes in a discrete yet powerful package - ideal for use in home theatre installations. AIC25 is a two-way active loudspeaker with 130mm(5") bass driver and 19mm (3/4") treble driver. It also features a RAM2 remote amplifier module which includes active crossover circuitry and separate, matched 30 Watt power amplifiers for the bass and treble drivers.

The AIC25 has a frequency response of 70Hz to 18kHz (+/-2.5dB) and a maximum peak SPL of 110dB. Its dimensions are 284mm (diameter) x 158mm D. In addition, visible surfaces of the loudspeaker can be painted to suit the listening environment.
