REL launches T-Series - true REL sub-bass gets affordable (29/11/2006)

REL announces its all-new T-Series, a three-strong line-up of ultra-high performance yet affordable sub-bass systems.

Designed from the ground up, the T-Series brings much of REL's legendary performance to a new price category and opens up the benefits of true sub-bass to a wider audience. Simply put, four years of extensive research and development has resulted in REL's most accomplished entry-level series to date, boasting class-leading dynamics, ultra-low frequency output and unique aesthetics.

John Hunter, REL owner and lead designer on the T-Series, comments: "When the performance bar had already been set so high with previous offerings such as the Q-150 and Quake models, it is simply not enough to offer an incremental improvement. We are extremely proud of the T-Series as the performance exceeds what we could have offered just a few years ago at twice the price."

The T-Series is unique at this price point in utilising a sealed cabinet with active/passive driver array. The forward facing active driver supplies direct slam and attack while the downward facing passive generates extended sub-bass output for a 'best of both worlds' scenario.

Despite retailing at just £395 (T-3), £495 (T-2) and £595 (T-1), the T-Series offers refinements one expects from REL, including exceptional build quality and flexible connecting options. Each model has REL's famous high-level input for seamless system integration, an RCA line-level input and .1/LFE input for connection to a cinema processor.

Both high-level and .1/LFE inputs can be used simultaneously in a multi-channel system, ideal for those who enjoy both high fidelity music and surround sound movie entertainment. The high-level input adds true sub-bass extension to main loudspeakers while cinematic low-frequency effects are generated with seismic scale through the .1/LFE input.

The dramatic new design of the T-Series is testament to form following function. The domed grille assembly is shaped to allow maximum excursion of the Ultra Long Throw drivers and the piano-lacquered rails provide an elegant method of elevating the cabinet the requisite distance from the floor to release the deepest bass waves.

The T-Series is available now in black ash or cherry composite laminate, both featuring high gloss black lacquered rails. A high-gloss white version may be available in 2007.

Each T-Series model is supplied with a dedicated mains lead, 10m Neutrik Speakon interconnect, floor spikes and user manual.
