Perfect network of analog and digital music sources

The KNX system is the only home bus to fulfil the European standard EN 50090, valid since 2004. More than 85% of the bus networked homes in Germany use the KNX technology and more than 90% of the European manufacturers for electronical installation technology offer KNX products.

Although the KNX/EIB offers a huge variety of control and navigation possibilities, the thought of connecting your home HiFi to the system to be used in the whole house had been neglected so far. For one reason, this was due to the fact that only few compatible components for the connection of the system to the home entertainment products were available. The other reason was that the upgrading to the KNX/EIB standard of the former multiroom systems via gateways or interfaces was considered too complicated and thus resulted too expensive to the builder-owner.

The KNX/EIB audio system of the German specialist for loudspeakers, WHD, offers a reasonable and easy solution to make multiroom an integral part of the modern home automation.

Everyone is talking about audio networks but they are considered complicated in terms of operation because the home PC has to take over the administration. The WHD DAM6000 system combines the comfort of multiroom systems with the advantages of the network technology. The combined infrared keypad fits perfectly the switches of the well known switch manufacturers.

For each of the rooms to be connected to audio, you will need a small multiroom amplifier that can easily be hidden in the distribution box. Also local sources, e.g. tv sound of the living room or the MP3 music file of the pc in the home office, can be integrated: a line-in module extends the 6 local sound sources up to 4 additional sound sources, that can be connected to the DAM audio network at any place. Over the DAM6000 network interface, the system can be configurated by PC or laptop. The IP control is based on TCP/IP and helps the system integrators realize the quantity of required control interfaces by software. The DAM system can be operated by almost any means in the home network, e.g. by a PDA or a touchpanel PC. For the control over the keypad there is an option to order an additional, already configurated and KNX certified interface. There is no special knowledge required: the parameters can easily be set by ETS3.

New WHD loudspeakers: A-Line M 240

A new loudspeaker with outstanding and clear design has been developed together with the advice of architects and with regard to the examples of the lightning and switch manufacturer industry. The uniqueness of the A-Line M 240 is given by the employment of valuable materials such as glass, wood, high-grade steel or plaster. The cover of this speaker can be easily and at any time changed without removing the speaker itself. It also provides good sound due to high-quality 2-way technology. An improved sound frequency cross-over network distributes the signals accurately to the dome-tweeter and cone midrange/woofer. The speaker can be connected to all commercial HiFi-, A/V- or multiroom systems and is also suitable for the home cinema.

Sound meets light: Music out of halogen spotlight

Architects often consider loudspeakers as disturbing room elements. WHD has found the solution to this: the new patented WHD loudspeakers for the bulb sockets of halogen spotlights and Kardan lights replace the light and enable the architect to use the maximum of creativity.

The dimensions of the model HLS 51 correspond to the type QR-CBC 51 (halogen spotlight with a diameter of approx. 50 mm) and thus can be built into corresponding commercial bulb sockets.

The dimensions of the model KLS 111 correspond to the type QR 111 (halogen spotlight with a diameter of approx. 110 mm) and thus can be built into corresponding commercial bulb sockets.

With an impedance of 20 ohm, both models can be connected to a HiFi amplifier. Even with 10 speakers, the functionality of commercial amplifier electronics, which requires 4 ohm, is granted.

R 1900 WPL: outdoor music and light.

The spherical speaker with ist 360¡ sound emission takes care of an excellent outdoor sound distribution. Its UV resistant, frosted glass housing comprises two energy saving light bulbs and sets a nice accent in your garden with its special light. The base can be fixed to the ground. It is the sound reflector and thus responsible for the extraordinary sound distribution.
