Asheridge Offers HDCP Certified 1080p HDMI Switching
and Didtribution Solutions (14/11/2006)
Asheridge Communications, the specialist
provider of custom installation solutions, has launched the PureLink
HD-150 distribution amp and HS-42A switching system into the UK
market. Both devices represent the first High-Bandwidth Digital
Content Protection (HDCP) licensed method for custom installers
to distribute and switch multiple 1080p HDMI sources, such as, HD
DVD, Blu-Ray, MPEG-4 Satellite, hi-res video gaming systems, etc,
to multiple 1080p HDTVs.
HDCP is a form of digital rights management
developed by Intel to control digital audio and video content as
it travels across DVI or HDMI connections and prevent transmission
or interception of non-encrypted HD content. HDCP support is essential
for the playback of protected HD content, requiring a licence. The
PureLink HD-150 and HS-42A, now available from Asheridge, are the
first distribution and switching products to hold this licence.
Allowing one HDMI source to be distributed
to five HDTVs, the PureLink HD-150 is an HDMI distribution amplifier,
compatible with all HD audio and video sources and displays. It
provides full HDCP decryption for all five output ports instead
of just the first, unlike other products currently on the market.
Fast and reliable, the HD-150 boasts an HDCP indicator LED to show
when the source and HDTV are in-sync. It can be layered up to three
times if required, allowing users to achieve distribution to a maximum
of 125 HDTVs.
The PureLink HS-42A is the first four input/two
output HDMI switching system to have HDCP certification and HD digital
audio switching on both outputs. It enables multiple HDTV sources
to share two HDTV displays and still offer superior HD performance.
Like the HD-150, it is easy to install and route, and has an RS-232C
port for further external control options. For easy switching between
sources, a discreet IR remote control unit is included.
