Entry-Level 1080p Projector from SIM2 Sets New Benchmarks (30/10/2006)

With HD-DVD and Blu-Ray bringing spectacular new levels of realism to movie reproduction, similarly remarkable display devices - that show films in true, uncompressed High Definition 1080p resolution - are needed.

But why splurge on new High Def hardware if you then only use a scrawny 42 inch screen? What you need is a projector to truly unleash HD-DVD and Blu-Ray's full potential and one that displays movies in true, uncompressed High Definition, that being 1080p resolution.

Helping bring such awesome images to a wider audience is projector maestro SIM2, with its latest model, the Domino D80. The projector offers incredible 1080p performance at a highly competitive £7,000 price point, underlining SIM2's position as, quite simply, the only choice for discerning High Definition home cinema enthusiasts.

The D80 offers new levels of cinematic realism in single chip projection. Employing a single Texas Instruments 0.95-inch 1080p DarkChip3(tm) DMD chipset and full 10-bit end-to-end processing capable of displaying the full resolution of even the most demanding video materials, the model features a long-life, high-output 160W lamp, SIM2's renowned ALPHA PATH(tm) proprietary light engine, a new seven-segment colour wheel, and a contrast ratio of >4000:1.

An industry-leading deinterlacer and scaling engine developed exclusively for SIM2 ensures optimal performance with any source material, including DVD, HDTV and standard definition broadcast material, as well as the newly available HD-DVD and Blu-Ray formats.

Also, the D80 features a wide selection of inputs - including HDMI(tm) and is compatible with all video and graphic standards. Easily upgradeable through a RS232 connection, enthusiasts can easily download the latest control software.

The D80 projector is available in either Black Shadow or White Evolution cabinet colour.

Suggested retail price inc VAT: SIM2 Domino D80 £6,999.00.
Availability: November 2006.
