RTI Expands Capabilities of State-of-the-Art T4 Universal System Controller (25/10/2006)

CEDIA US Expo 2006

New EM-4 Expansion Module Allows Display from Two Composite Video Sources

Remote Technologies Inc, the leading manufacturer in home control products, announces the introduction of the EM-4 Expansion Module for the T4 Universal Controller, the industry standard in handheld home entertainment systems controllers.

The new expansion module allows the T4 controller to display video from two composite video sources. The EM-4 also provides the T4 with a fast, reliable 10/100 Ethernet connection, useful for monitoring security cameras and communicating with other IP-addressable devices, as well as viewing motion JPEG video while browsing the Web. Video and Web pages can be displayed either full-screen or in an adjustable window. Additionally, the EM-4 incorporates VESA 75 mounting holes, which allow the T4 to be mounted near the equipment rack, under kitchen cabinets, in corporate boardrooms, or at the "captain's chair" in a home theater room.

"The EM-4 Expansion Module truly lends the T4 to cutting-edge functionality, combined with incredible installation flexibility," said Pete Baker, vice president of sales and marketing for RTI. "The EM-4 Expansion Module for the T4 allows the ability to incorporate video inputs from two different sources and a hardwired Ethernet connection, providing a very powerful control interface".

The T4 is RTI's flagship wireless, handheld controller featuring a highly stylized design, user-friendly ergonomics and intuitive operation to control audio/video components, lights, and other electronic systems in the home. The T4 is capable of displaying wireless video (motion JPEG) and Web pages. With a TFT LCD, full VGA resolution, powerful 400MHz 32-bit MCU, 32MB of Flash memory, stereo speakers, and an expandable architecture, the T4 defines the vertex in touchpanel control.

The EM-4 Expansion Module is scheduled for full release during the 4th quarter of 2006 at an MSRP of $499.
