News Smart-e Enhances Receivers (20/10/2006) Smart-e has extended the transmission range of its receivers to deliver 1600x1200 high resolution pictures over 200 metres of structured cable (1280x1024 to 300 metres) from the source device. This enhancement combined with integral infra red, RS232 control, and inline power capability, is unique to the world of Cat 5 video distribution. Ê The requirement to meet the July 2006 deadline for lead-free equipment (RoHS directive), led to a re-design and upgrading of Smart-eÕs range of receivers, all of which have now been enhanced to provide customers with a higher quality product. As well as ensuring the equipment is lead-free, some receivers also have internal skew compensation designed for compensating for the problems of CAT6 cabling over longer distances. The receivers now also feature convenient built-in lugs set at the sides of the casing allowing the unit to be screwed to racks quickly and easily. Ê Audio and video distribution company Smart-e is well known for its purple coloured equipment and has become a leader in the innovative design of distribution equipment for the domestic and commercial AV market.
