Marantz Puts More "Theater" in Home Theater at CEDIA 2006 With Wide Range of Forward-Looking A/V Products (11/10/2006)

Groundbreaking New Digital Home Cinema Projector, New A/V Receivers with HDMI Switching, Three New DVD Players, DAvED, "Classic" Marantz Audio Components and More

Marantz America, a world leader in advanced home entertainment, is significantly raising the bar in home entertainment performance at CEDIA 2006 with a wide range of advanced products that provide custom installers and consumers with new solutions for bringing more of the true power and realism of the cinema into the home. Included among the new products Marantz will demonstrate at CEDIA are: a breakthrough high-performance digital home cinema projector, leading-edge audio/video receivers with HDMI-switching, advanced DVD players and "classic" Marantz audio components. Following is an overview of key CEDIA 2006 news from Marantz:

VP-11S1: Digital Cinema Projector with 1080p HD Upconversion Capability

Marantz is reaffirming its position as the clear industry leader in High-Definition DLP(r) Projectors at CEDIA, showcasing its full line of advanced projectors, led by the breakthrough Model VP-11S1 (SRP: $19,999), a single-chip DLP(r) Projector that truly brings the impact and realism of the cinema into the home. Featuring full upconversion capability for all video sources to 1080p HD resolution, the VP-11S1 uses the newest technology available from Texas Instruments to dramatically increase onscreen pixel count (over 2 megapixels, 1920 x 1080), yielding unprecedented image quality and resolution. It also features the new Gennum GF9351, a completely programmable video processor that can do calculations on the order of 500 million floating point operations per second. The company will also debut the VP4001, a front projector that will be available in October 2006, combining Marantz quality video with an attractive price of $4,099.

Expanded A/V Receiver Line Offers Superior Performance from All Sources

Marantz' full line of advanced 7.1-channel audio/video surround sound receivers provides dynamic home theater surround sound solutions for every custom installation need. Marantz will demonstrate six new models at CEDIA, including the SR8001 (SRP: $1,999.99), SR7001 (SRP: $1,399.99), SR5001 (SRP: $749.99) and SR4001 (SRP: $549.99). For maximum ease of installation, all new Marantz receivers feature a new shallower cabinet design (less than 16" deep). The new SR8001, which replaces the popular SR8500, exemplifies the new line and reflects Marantz' ongoing commitment to creating receivers that provide superior audio and video performance from all sources. It features THX-Select Post Processing, HDMI (V1.2) switching and many more cutting-edge technologies including upconversion to HDMI (480i/480p converter, with time-based correction). Featuring the new shallower all-copper chassis, with a double layer bottom plate, the SR8001 is also distinguished by assignable dual component outputs and a massive Toroidal Transformer that provides 125 watts of power output for authoritative, effortless reproduction of movie soundtracks and music. In addition to the SR8001, Marantz is introducing four advanced A/V receivers that also feature HDMI switching capability, supporting the conversion of analog video output to HDMI, with high quality de-interlacing and scaling up to 1080i.

Marantz will also demonstrate its new stereo receiver, Model SR4021 (SRP: $449.99). Designed to serve as a high-performance stereo solution or secondary zone receiver, the SR4021 offers ample power, full A/V switching, and a host of other custom installer-friendly features such as direct IR input, triple IR code sets, four video outputs, and a powerful 80 watt per channel amplifier. All new Marantz receivers will be available September 2006.

New Additions to Acclaimed Marantz DVD Player Lineup.

At CEDIA, Marantz is adding two new high-performance players to its renowned DVD line, including the DV4001 (SRP: $329.99, availability October 2006) and the new VC6001 5-disc universal DVD changer (SRP: $699.99, availability December 2006). Both new models feature a variety of custom-installer friendly features such as RS-232C control and direct IR inputs, DivX playback, as well as advanced scaling technologies (up to 480p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p) and other advanced performance and convenience features. The company's complete line of high-performance "universal" DVD players also includes the reference-quality flagship DV9600 (SRP: $2,099), as well as the DV7600 (SRP: $899), DV6600 (SRP: $649) and the DV4600 (SRP: $299), for a range of advanced players that offer solutions for every advanced home entertainment need and budget.

IS201: Universal Apple(r) iPod(r) Docking Station

Marantz will also demonstrate its new Model IS201 universal docking station for the Apple(r) iPod(r). The IS201 (SRP:$199.99) is the industry's first-ever dedicated iPod dock compatible with all types of home entertainment systems - from high-end A/V separates systems, to compact 'cinema-in-a-box' systems to simple stereo and basic TV systems. Featuring an aesthetically pleasing, gently rounded design, the IS201 generates its own on-screen command and control display and provides custom installers and consumers with a flexible and convenient solution for easily integrating iPods into larger home entertainment systems. It offers full compatibility with iPod nano, iPod video, iPod mini, iPod photo and iPod (10GB, 15GB, 20GB, 30GB, 40GB, 60GB). For total convenience, the IS201 comes with its own dedicated remote control and can also be controlled via Marantz' learning remote.

"Classic" Marantz Components Offer No-Compromise Audiophile Performance...

True to form as the industry's longstanding leader in reference-quality audio components, Marantz is introducing three new ultimate-quality component separates at CEDIA. All three products provide discriminating audiophiles and custom installation specialists with the advanced components they need to create true reference-quality audio systems.

Marantz' new separates include the SC-7S2 Reference Control Amplifier (SRP: $7,999.99, availability September 2006), which replaces the existing SC-7S1. It offers a major step-up in audio performance capabilities with a unique high channel separation design, upgraded low noise Toroidal transformer and more. In addition, Marantz is introducing the MA-9S2 Reference Power Amplifier (SRP: $7,999.99, availability September 2006), featuring a two-stage amplifier circuit, instantaneous high-current delivery capability and a double shielded low-noise Toroidal transformer.

Finally, Marantz is debuting its state-of-the-art SA-7S1 Reference SACD Player (SRP: $6,999.99, availability November 2006). Packed with audiophile-grade selected components, the SA-7S1 features a newly designed aluminum mechanism, as well as advancements such as a selectable digital filter, low-jitter internal clock, digital phase converter and more.

Marantz will also demonstrate its recently introduced 5-disc carousel CD changer, Model CC4001 (SRP: $349.99), which includes a host of features geared specifically for the custom install market, including Bi-Directional RS-232C control, a five IR code set for multiple use, direct IR flasher input and detachable power cord.

DAvED: Exciting New Easy-to-Use Multi-Room Audio Solution

Marantz is offering an affordable multi-zone home audio networking solution with its innovative new DAvED system (SRP: $1,299.99). DAvED is an easy-to-use multi-room audio network system comprised of the ZR6001 Audio/Video receiver and the ZC4001 Client. When combined, these two high-performance components make it easier than ever for consumers to set up a multiple room digital audio system in their home - by actually running all their favorite music to any room in the house via the existing AC power lines in their home.
