Belden introduces Brilliance Low Cap OFHC speaker cables (11/10/2006)

Belden has introduced a range of Low-Cap Oxygen-Free, High Conductivity (OFHC) speaker cables for indoor/outdoor/burial high end speaker cables offering distinct performance and installation benefits.

Brilliance(tm) speaker cables are designed for singe family and multi-dwelling residential installations, where high performance speaker cables are needed. The cables' superior performance is realized through the use of high purity, high conductivity oxygen-free copper conductors. These have been manufactured using an upright shaft manufacturing process. The result is a high conductivity copper conductor that is inherently free of impurities, delivering exceptional sound clarity.

Sound clarity is also improved through the use of a polyolefin insulation material, a distinctly better dielectric than traditional PVC. This provides the cable with a superior high frequency response over extended distances.

The new range consists of 5 products:

* 16 AWG (1.5 mm2) 65 strand, 2 conductor
* 16 AWG (1.5 mm2) 65 strand, 4 conductor
* 14 AWG (2.0 mm2) 105 strand, 2 conductor
* 14 AWG (2.0 mm2) 105 strand, 4 conductor
* 12 AWG (2.5 mm2) 168 strand, 2 conductor

The highly stranded conductors make these speaker cables extremely flexible and the use of a PVC jacket makes the cable easy to install. Other easy installation features include Brightly coloured jackets for easy identification, print legends to facilitate location identification, cable jackets with sequential markings (ascending or descending) at 60 cm intervals and easy to pull constructions.

Belden's Marketing Manager Entertainment Europe, Werner Eich says: "As a pioneer and leader in cable technology, Belden has always taken a stringent approach to cable quality assurance. Rather than simply inspect and test cables after manufacturing, Belden begins its quality process in the product development and manufacturing stages. This "Design for Manufacturability" approach, combined with statistical quality control of manufacturing processes, and state-of-the-art manufacturing and testing equipment, ensure that Belden cables are manufactured in such a consistent manner as to guarantee superior performance and reliability."
