Tech+Link Introduces Switch2 4-Into-1 HDMI Switch (5/10/2006)

HDMI is set to become as popular as the scart lead but over 90% of HD-Ready plasma and LCD TVs sold so far* have only one HDMI input.

Even today's flagship HD-Ready TVs often only have two HDMI inputs meaning that when HD-DVD, Blu-Ray, Freeview-HD, HD MediaServers, the PS3 etc come along, you are going to be stuck for inputs.

The answer is the tech+link Switch2 4-into1 HDMI switch. This fully HDMI Organisation certified switching unit offers four HDMI inputs with seamless switching to a single HDMI output for your HD-Ready TV or home cinema projector. Switching can be achieved fully automatically on source detection or by embedded switch-flags (compatible HDMI sources only). For those who prefer manual switching, this compact unit can be controlled using the fascia buttons or with its stylish aluminium-topped IR remote control.

The Switch2 4-into-1 HDMI switch is compatible with HDCP copy protection, HD video formats up to 1080p and HDMI 1.2a specification. Audio and Video switching is lossless and active HDMI repeater circuits mean both HDMI input and HDMI output cables can be up to 15m in length (the HDMI maximum approved specification) - for a maximum 30m run from source to display.

The tech+link Switch2 4-into-1 HDMI switch is available now, supplied with mains adapter and remote control at around £169.99.

Note: * Approximated data based on the complete range of HD-Ready TV models available from the UK's top 4 TV brands up to and including May 2006.
