Vutec Offers RS-232 and IP-Enabled Controls for 24 AV Products (25/9/2006)

CEDIA US EXPO 2006

Vutec's motorized products will now be operable by RS-232 and IP protocols through the company's new Systems Integrator Kit.

"As the next generation of systems integration moves to more sophisticated controls via RS-232 and IP networking," said Kevin R. Baisley, Vutec's vice president of sales and marketing, "Vutec is empowering end-users in the video sector to more easily manage a full spectrum of home and commercial applications with this simple kit. They can now seamlessly integrate their video projection screens and masking systems with other automated products on a common control platform."

Vutec manufactures more than 24 motorized screens and other products that operate by low voltage relays or RF and IR controls, including ceiling and projector lifts, rising arm and retractable projection screens, and multi-aspect ratio masking systems. With installation of Vutec's Systems Integrator Kit, these products can work on standard protocols, by RS-232 commands or via IP networking to interface with control systems by AMX, Crestron, Lexicon and other manufacturers.
