Vutec Introduces Vision XFT at CEDIA: A Tri-Plex
Masking Screen for Home Theaters (25/9/2006)
CEDIA US EXPO 2006
Vutec Corporation introduced its Vision XFT
Tri-Plex screen at CEDIA to meet the new technology needs of the
rapidly expanding home theater market by accommodating the latest
innovation in projector technology-the 2.35 anamorphic lens projector.
"Vision XFT is unique," said Howard Sinkoff,
president of Vutec Corporation, "by offering viewers a native 2.35:1,
flat-fixed, vertical masking screen for anamorphic lens projectors
that maintains constant vertical height for all three standard aspect
ratios-while eliminating the shadows that plague curved screen systems."
Vision XFT achieves this optimum viewing experience by being designed
by Vutec to leave no space between the masking panels and projection
screen.
Vision XFT eliminates black bars on-screen
while maintaining a full screen image and constant image height
for 2.35:1 CinemaScope, 16:9 HDTV, and 4:3 NTSC TV aspect ratios
through a built-in intelligent motor control system. This innovation
ensures the vertical masking panels will achieve the perfect aspect
ratio with each viewing experience-and lets home theater enthusiasts
watch CinemaScope as it was actually filmed, along with HDTV and
standard video, in a single screen system.
In addition to its built-in intelligent motor
control system and Decora-style keypad control, Vutec has engineered
XFT to use the company's IR6 infrared interface adaptor, allowing
users to control the system via a learnable IR remote. Moreover,
through its intelligent motor control system, the XFT is fully compatible
with control system interfaces by AMX, Crestron, Lexicon and other
manufacturers. Finally, Vision XFT ships fully assembled for immediate
installation.
"Home theater owners are now demanding their
highly sophisticated projectors be matched by an equally sophisticated
video projection screen that accommodates the widest variety of
viewing options," commented Kevin Baisley, Vutec's vice president
of sales and marketing. "Vutec's engineering staff has met that
need with Vision XFT."
Vision XFT users have a wide range of screen
materials to choose among, starting with Vutec's patented SilverStar(tm)
front projection video screen. "SilverStar provides a gain of 6
without any hot spotting," said Mr. Sinkoff, "and a 180 degree viewing
area. Due to its innovative technology, SilverStar gives viewers
vivid colors without color shift, and with greater detail than any
other screen surface. With these attributes, SilverStar truly is
a high definition video projection screen."
It's particularly well suited to home applications
since consumers may not have space for a dedicated home theater
with controlled lighting. SilverStar also compensates for those
using lower ANSI lumen projectors. Further, the screen's extra gain
helps maintain picture clarity over a greater viewing distance,
which is beneficial for theaters and large rooms.
Other Vutec screen fabrics available for
Vision XFT include BriteWhite Opaque (1.3 gain), PearlBrite (3.1
gain), GreyDove (0.95 gain), the company's award-winning acoustically
transparent SoundScreen (0.95 gain) and GreyDove SoundScreen (0.85
gain).
"As more movies and DVD's are produced in
2.35 format," commented Mr. Sinkoff, "home theater enthusiasts will
need a system that offers the greatest variety of viewing options.
By maintaining image height with Vision XFT in every format, viewers
know they will always have the largest possible image on screen.
Vision XFT provides consumers with a total solution for home theater."
Manufacturers suggested retail price starts
at $17,990.00, based on size and screen material.
