CEDIA EXPO 2006 Draws Record Attendance for Trade
Show and Education Courses (25/9/2006)
Record-breaking attendance numbers confirm
continued growth of industry and increased validation of CEDIA Certification
The Custom Electronic Design Installation
Association (CEDIA) confirmed its attendance numbers for EXPO 2006
in Denver were more than 28,000, or about an 8 percent increase
over last year's attendance. The record-breaking figure makes CEDIA
EXPO 2006 the largest and most successful trade show in the organization's
17-year history.
Participation in CEDIA University courses
was also at its highest level, which CEDIA leadership believes is
due to new CEDIA University core curriculums for the Electronic
Systems Technician (EST) and Electronic Systems Designer (ESD) colleges,
as well as increased recognition of CEDIA Certification in the marketplace.
"The educational opportunities at CEDIA EXPO
are essential to raising the bar on quality within the residential
electronic systems industry," said CEDIA Executive Director Don
Gilpin. "Combined with our ĪCU on the Roadā educational opportunities
throughout the year, CEDIA University is the best resource for contractors
to increase profitability through real-world applicable training."
CEDIA EXPO 2006 also had more exhibitors
than ever. More than 600 exhibitors displayed the latest technologies
and products on the show floor, which is about 100 more exhibitors
than EXPO 2005.
According to CEDIA leadership, reaction to
the new location was positive across the board. Exhibitors appreciated
the fourth day that they requested and attendees had additional
hours for education and show floor activities.
CEDIA EXPO will be held in Denver in 2007
(Sept. 5-9) and 2008 (Sept. 3-7).
