NuVo debuts its New NV-M3 Music Server (1/9/2006)

CEDIA US Expo 2006

NuVo Technologies is about to introduce it's new NV-M3 Music Server, which is designed for music management in the homes of the future and acts as a bridge for migrating music from the way it is being stored today. It simplifies managing music in the home similarly to portable music technology. The downloading process is a snap, and instantly accessible to the homeowner. Plus, it will be offered at a stunning value of $2199 MSRP.

Here's how it works...The consumer downloads music into their home computer with Microsoft(r) Media Player and then it synchronizes with NuVo's NV-M3 media player, just like the homeowner's MP3 player-it's just that immediate and simple. This new approach makes it so streamlined, timesaving and backup secure that current methods will become obsolete. The added security of having dual storage (or tertiary storage with an MP3 player) of all the music files, both on the Windows Media Player and on NuVo's NV-M3, make data loss virtually impossible. All standard CD's can also be ripped to Windows Media Player, synced, and backup protected, as they never have before. No more concerns about lost or broken CD's, they're now saved in multiple places.

It Key features include:

* 3 Source Outputs - 3 different songs resident on our music server can be playing simultaneously in multiple zones (output 3 has optical as well as analog output). * Standard 160 GB Hard Disk storage of music files - That equates to 40,000 songs (or 3700 CD's) depending on the average size of your music library, or 115 straight days of nonstop music of 128 kbps audio files. * Uses Windows(r) Media Player 10 (or version 11 beta version now available) - Direct communication through USB ports between NuVo's Music Server and Microsoft's Media Player versions. This makes syncing downloaded music a breeze. * Microsoft(r) Plays for Sure(tm) certified, DRM (digital rights management) content capable - Plays for Sure assures that the music purchased on-line plays universally on audio equipment in recognized formats, as well as the music downloaded through this configuration properly protects the artists' copyrighted content. * NV-M3 plays WMA, MP3 (compressed) and WAV (uncompressed) formats, which are those that meet the Plays For Sure guidelines. * Standard USB port connection, links both the homeowner's PC and Music Server from anywhere in the house, through a "behind the walls" extender system using CAT-5, to USB cables at either end. * The NuVo NV-M3 Music Server combined with the Grand Concerto Control Pad provides multi-line display for fast and easy scrolling through the large volumes of song titles in a typical music library for quick discovery and selection of music choices.

NuVo's NV-M3 user interface on the front of the unit also leverages the same technology available on it's Grand Concerto Control Pad counterpart. These technologies include; OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) display, Polycarbonate display surface and Capacitive Touch Technology.
