LINDY launches 3 Port HDMI switch with remote control (31/8/2006)

LINDY Electronics today announced the launch of its new HDMI Switch Remote that allows users to connect up to three HDMI or DVI devices to a suitably equipped display, eliminating the problems caused when monitors, high definition TVs and projectors have only one HDMI or DVI socket.

The LINDY HDMI Switch Remote enables users to change easily between HDMI / DVI input devices such as a Sky box, DVD player or set top box via the remote control, without having to physically unplug cables. Fully HDMI compliant, it is able to support high definition video resolutions of up to 1080p, multi-channel digital audio and HDCP, making it ideal for use with high definition equipment in a home cinema installation.

Stephen Fawcett, Senior Product Manager of LINDY Electronics says, "Many HD TVs come with just one socket, which limits the number of devices that can be connected at one time. As HD devices become more popular, this lack of foresight by manufacturers has become very frustrating for users who have to crawl round the back of equipment just to change from one device to another. Our HDMI switch solves this problem and its handy remote control means there is no need to leave the armchair."

The LINDY HDMI Switch Remote is made of a robust metal construction with a silver finish to complement existing home cinema equipment. Users can switch between devices by pressing the button on the front panel or by using the IR remote control, which includes four user selectable IR codes to avoid conflicts with other devices.

LINDY has also launched a new DVI Switch Remote that allows users to connect the video output of up to four DVI or HDMI devices to a DVI equipped TV, projector or TFT monitor.
