VizionWare Raises Performance Bar With Active Digital
HDMI Interconnects (31/8/2006)
CEDIA US Expo 2006
Breakthrough Technology Provides Unsurpassed
Video & Audio Quality in Active, Digital, "Reach-Independent" HDMI
Cables
VizionWare, a new Texas-based audio and video
digital interconnect manufacturer, has created the industry's most
advanced digital interconnects. The company's award-winning digital
technology delivers numerous unique advances leading to unprecedented
improvements to HDMI digital cables and adapters. These key advances
and improvements overcome the limitations of passive, analog HDMI
cables, enhancing transmission between the source and sink cable
ends, lowering EMI radiation and interference with other wired and
wireless connections, while delivering theater quality signals from
the source to the display independent of cable length.
"The HDMI cables on the market today are
typically either passive analog or pseudo-digital; both unable to
adequately support today's advanced video resolutions, particularly
at longer cable lengths," said Larry Woodson, President/CEO of VizionWare.
"VizionWare's Hi-Wirez(tm) technology delivers a clear path via
reach-independent interconnects that are higher performance and
easier to install than existing cabling solutions. They have been
designed for the most demanding high definition video applications
and have been developed with a lot of input and guidance from both
custom residential and commercial installers."
Following are some of the key elements comprising
VizionWare's Active Digital Technology.
Technology Details:
Image Enhancing Circuitry: Existing cables,
lacking this circuitry, have attributes that lead to poor signal
amplitude and phase dispersion throughout the cable.
This causes signal loss in the cable limiting
both reach as well as quality of the delivered image. VizionWare
technology boosts the higher noise-susceptible frequencies. This
minimizes signal loss in the cable, maintains the proper signaling
levels, and allows for longer, lighter and more cost-effective cables,
while delivering theater quality signals to the display.
Signal Balancing: Unlike other cable solutions,
VizionWare cables utilize signal balancing circuit techniques to
provide unsurpassed viewing clarity. This circuitry balances the
spectral response of the cables which inherently have a non-linear
response to different frequencies. This balancing of the non-linear
response eliminates the "pixelization" effect and reach limitation
inherent in existing cable technology.
DSP and Innovative Manufacturing Techniques:
VizionWare's products make use of a digital signal processing technique
that is added to the cable assembly through an innovative and uniquely
developed manufacturing process. Through the use of this technology
the detrimental impact of incoming signals and data on subsequent
signals and data is reduced, providing for a richer viewing experience
whether with short, intermediate or longer reach cables.
Enhanced Transmission Technology: Current
passive, analog solutions create imaging problems between the Source
and Sink cable ends. To overcome these problems, VizionWare's patented
cabling technology minimizes signal coupling into shielded structures,
as well as device impedance mismatches, both of which are common
in existing passive cables. The signaling schemes presently used
in existing HDMI / DVI cabling technology only sink current to one
half of the true and complement differential pair at any one time,
leading to common mode radiation and load differences in the cable
assembly, which results in delivered images of poor fidelity. VizionWare's
signaling technology corrects this mismatch between the source and
sink currents, further reducing EMI within the assembly. VizionWare
technology also minimizes package-based EMI and pad ring noise.
The benefits of these improvements are higher quality images delivered
over longer distances at resolutions up to and including 1080p.
Optimal Spectral Diffusion: VizionWare implements
advanced coding techniques to reduce the considerable spectral energy
induced by horizontal synchronizing ("HSYNC") and vertical synchronizing
("VSYNC") coding symbols. Through the use of Optimal Spectral Diffusion,
VizionWare products achieve dramatic decreases in EMI and EMI emissions,
without adding jitter to the signal. This reduces interference with
other wireless and RF technologies, enhances EMC, and further enhances
the delivered image versus alternative cabling.
VizionWare technology allows for unprecedented
bi-directional performance in an active cable assembly. The intended
direction of the channel will be determined by the nature of the
pixel clock itself and will allow the cable to determine the appropriate
direction of the transmission. A fully bi-directional cable with
active technology will be able to identify the source and display
devices on either end of the cable with no input required from the
user.
VizionWare's first products, which incorporate
a complete package of breakthrough technologies, are a family of
active digital HDMI interconnects, dubbed Hi-Wirez(tm). They will
be available in 1 meter, 2 meter, 5 meter, 7 meter and 10 meter
lengths, and will be introduced at the CEDIA EXPO being held in
Denver, CO from September 14-17, 2006. A complete line of DVI interconnects
as well as HDMI and DVI adapters will also be available by the end
of the year.
