Former Monster Cable COO and Former Apple VP of iLife
Applications Join Riptopia Board (31/8/2006)
Booth 2418, CEDIA US Expo 2006
As the premiere CD ripping service for the
AV industry, Riptopia will be making several key announcements during
CEDIA EXPO 2006. Most notably is the addition of two industry icons
to Riptopia's Board of Directors. Former Monster Cable COO Irene
Baran and Former Apple Vice President of iLife Applications Todd
Basche have joined Riptopia's team to fulfill a core mission of
building the first national CD processing service to support the
ever-growing array of digital media centers, music services and
portable media players.
During her 21 years at Monster Cable and
14 years as COO, Baran helped to turn the company into the world's
leading manufacturer of high performance cables that connect audio/video
components for the home, car, and computers.
"At Monster Cable we created more than just
a new product category, we pioneered a new way to attach Monster
products to the sale of any speaker system or stereo component,"
said Baran. "In the same way, I believe that the sale of every digital
media component is an opportunity to attach Riptopia's CD processing
service."
From 2001 to 2003, Todd Basche was in charge
of all Apple iLife applications including iTunes, iTunes Music Store,
iMove, iDVD, and iPhoto and was instrumental in helping to create
the digital sea change within the audio video industry.
"Riptopia sits on the nexus between the AV
industry and the computer industry as the two merge to create the
digital home," said Basche. "I look forward to helping the company
provide digital media services that aid consumers in choosing when
and where they listen to their digital media."
Stemming from Riptopia's success at CEDIA
EXPO 2005, over 350 AV Installers, manufacturers and AV retail stores
have partnered with Riptopia. With the addition of a second 10,000
sq. ft. processing center in the heart of downtown San Francisco,
Riptopia has tripled its processing capabilities and guarantees
a 48-hour processing time on orders of 1000 CDs or less. Riptopia
also announced earlier this month the acquisition of its strongest
competitor, RipDigital. RipDigital's former founder and President,
Richard Adams, has now joined the Riptopia team as Vice President
of Business Development.
Located at Booth # 2418, Riptopia will provide
on-site presentations to attendees to clearly explain the Riptopia
process and to explain the benefits of offering plug-and-play solutions
such as digital music servers and media centers that come pre-loaded
with a customer's CD collection. Riptopia will work with manufacturers,
AV retail chain owners and AV installers attending CEDIA to best
integrate ripping service into their existing products and service
offerings.
