DPI Releases TheaterScope Premier System (31/8/2006)
Booth 558, CEDIA US Expo 2006
Anamorphic Lens Options Expanded To Support
New 1080p Projectors
Digital Projection International (DPI), an
Emmy(r) Award-winning manufacturer of high-performance projection
systems, announced the addition of the TheaterScope Premier System
to their line of home cinema projectors and system accessories.
The TheaterScope Premier features a larger anamorphic lens to serve
DP's higher resolution, native 1080p projectors - the dVision 1080p,
TITAN 1080p-250 and TITAN 1080p-500.
Similar to DPI's TheaterScope package previously
released for its 1280 x 720 resolution projectors, the TheaterScope
Premier system includes a high quality 1.33 anamorphic lens and
a precision engineered motorized lens sled. The new "premier" lens
provides a wider aperture, which is required for the larger image
size created by the native 1920 x 1080 pixel DMD(s). The TheaterScope
Premier can also be used with DPI's 720p projectors for improved
geometry performance. The included motorized sled provides accurate,
RS232 controlled positioning of the anamorphic lens in front of
the primary projection lens.
DPI's TheaterScope Systems are specifically
designed for use with the company's single-chip dVision, and three-chip
Mercury and TITAN series projectors. The primary benefit of the
TheaterScope Systems is to enable native HD projectors with 16 x
9 aspect ratios to display both HD and 2.35:1 content on fixed-height
screens, with no letterbox (horizontal black bars). The resulting
image is always presented at full projector native resolution while
filling the entire screen, whether 16 x 9 or 2.35:1 - creating an
entertainment experience similar to that of the finest commercial
cinemas.
Digital Projection is currently shipping
the TheaterScope and TheaterScope Premier Systems as options for
its dVision, Mercury and TITAN projectors in both the HD (720p)
and 1080p platforms.
DPI will be demonstrating the TheaterScope
Systems, on dVision and TITAN projectors, in booth # 558 at CEDIA
2006, September 14th - 18th in Denver, Colorado.
