Custom Installers Embrace Central Vacuum Systems - Attractive Margins, Builder Business Fuel Growth (29/8/2006)

CEDIA US Expo 2006

Custom installation companies are increasingly adding Beam Central Vacuum Systems to their product lineup to solidify their business with home builders and earn healthier profit margins.

Opportunities exist for custom installation companies to market central vacuum systems in several underserved and rapidly growing markets, where Beam has developed strong national and regional programs with leading builders.

"Custom installation companies are the fastest-growing segment of our central vacuum system dealer network," says Paul Runyan, general manager of U.S. sales for Beam. "These dealers recognize that to attract and keep builder customers, they must offer a complete low-volt product package including structured wiring, audio, security and central vacuum systems."

Recommended by leading green building programs and environmental organizations for their ability to remove allergens and other contaminants from the living area, central vacuum systems are making significant inroads in new residential construction. Runyan says installing complete systems and priming new homes with tubing and inlet valves for central vacuum systems are among the fastest growing trends in homebuilding. By 2010, up to 75 percent of new homes may be primed for central vacuum systems to satisfy home buyer demands for improved indoor air quality, he says.

For the dealer, selling and installing Beam Central Vacuum Systems can be a lucrative addition to the business. Not only are Beam products consistently rated by builders as the top quality central vacuum systems, they provide margins for dealers that can be significantly greater than other installed, low-volt products, Runyan adds.
