Eaton Corporation to exhibit residential products at CEDIA (16/8/2006)

Booth 2114, CEDIA US Expo 2006

This year's CEDIA Expo (September 14-17 in Denver) promises to provide a glimpse into some of the most innovative, intuitive electronics in the industry of electronic design and installation.

During the show, Eaton Corporation will be exhibiting a number of products for the residential space including a wireless home awareness system and structured wiring updates.

Home Heartbeat(TM)

á Home Heartbeat(TM) provides homeowners with an all-in-one glimpse of the status and condition of their home through a wireless network of ZigBee(TM) enabled sensors. The sensors communicate alerts around the clock via the Home Key(TM), text messaging, and/or email messaging (accessible anywhere Internet access is available).
á Home Heartbeat(TM) Starter Pack (MSRP: $169.99) features a Base Station, a Home Key(TM), and an Open/Closed sensor. The Starter Pack includes everything needed to begin monitoring the status of the home. Additional wireless sensors (MSRP: $29.99 to $49.99) can be added to monitor everything from water leaks to appliances drawing power (iron, coffee potÉetc.) to open/closed doors and windows to routine maintenance schedules.
á Home Heartbeat(TM) also features a water shut-off controller that automatically shuts off the main water supply to the home, preventing thousands of dollars in costly water damage repairs.
á The system is entirely customizable, allowing homeowners to add only the sensors that are appropriate for their home.

Structured Wiring

Eaton is introducing a CAT5 / A-BUS Intercom system to the structured wiring line. Intercom functions include:

1. Easy to install with existing Eaton enclosures and only 1 CAT5 cable is needed to connect keypads, door stations, and A-BUS audio.
2. An override circuit for muting the A-BUS audio system when the intercom is activated.
3. Initial broadcast communication calls to all rooms, enabling room to room communication.
4. Keypads offer a variety of options including hands free operation for the receiver as well as mute and monitoring control in any room.
á The product will be available Q4 of 2006.
