Marata Vision launches feature-packed HDMI scaler-switcher
(11/8/2006)
With HD ready displays and projectors flying
off the shelves, the question on many minds is how to connect existing
analogue and digital equipment to the new HD displays to enjoy the
benefits of high resolution with all sources.
German AV specialists Cinemateq have the
answer with their new HDMI Picture Optimizer, launched in the UK
by Marata Vision.
The Picture Optimizer Plus HD (POP-HD) features
switching, de-interlacing and scaling from both analogue and digital
video sources up to HD with a variable output resolution reaching
1080p.
With dual DVI and HDMI outputs (fully HDCP
compliant), the POP-HD allows simultaneous connection of two HD
displays (e.g. flat-panel TV and projector) and with digital audio
switching following the video to two digital SPDIF outputs.
Featuring no fewer than 11 video inputs,
5 analogue, 4 digital (HDMI) and 2 SDI, plus 5 digital audio and
4 HDMI inputs, the POP-HD will meet the demands of even the most
elaborate home cinema installation.
Apart from the convenient AV-switching function,
all SDTV inputs and all HDMI inputs can be adjusted independently
for brightness, contrast and saturation, and can be enhanced in
sharpness both horizontally and vertically. For current and future
HD sources full progressive 1080p signals are accepted by each of
the four HDMI inputs, offering a pure 1080p bypass function.
The Cinemateq Picture Optimizer Plus HD is
also available with two SDI inputs, making it the ideal partner
for Cinemateq's Studio SDI DVD player or broadcast TV applications.
The Top 5 Features
* 4 scalable HDMI inputs (secure screw fixing
plugs) with full HDCP support and 7 SDTV inputs
* digital scaling of SDTV (480p/576p), HDTV (720p, 1080i) and PC
