CEA Wraps Up Successful Trip to China for
SINOCES 2006
The China Consumer Electronics Show (SINOCES)
concluded Monday in Qingdao, China, after hosting more than 390
exhibitors, occupying the largest exhibit floor in show history.
Co-sponsored by the U.S.-based Consumer Electronics Association
(CEA(R)), SINOCES 2006, China's largest exhibition of consumer electronics,
was held July 7-10, 2006, in Qingdao, China.
The fifth annual SINOCES attracted more than
62,000 attendees from across the globe, including 5,300 attendees
traveling from outside China. Industry professionals experienced
the latest products from 392 global exhibitors, across a sold-out
show floor comprised of 35,000 square meters of exhibit space, up
from 24,000 square meters in 2005.
"The Chinese consumer electronics industry
continues to boom, providing incredible opportunities for foreign
companies to expand into the Chinese marketplace," said Todd Thibodeaux,
senior vice president, industry relations, CEA. "CEA's partnership
with the China Electronic Chamber of Commerce (CECC) and SINOCES
paves a road for our members to explore new international business
opportunities and allows us to promote our tradeshow, the International
CES, to an international audience."
The international scope of SINOCES 2006 expanded
significantly with more than 80 foreign exhibitors debuting their
latest technologies to the Chinese consumer electronics marketplace
and international buyers. Several major international retailers
were in attendance including Best Buy, Carrefour, Karstadt Metro,
Obi, Quelle, Radio Shack and Walmart. Key global exhibitors highlighting
their new products on the show floor included Hair, Intel and Sony.
SINOCES 2006 ran July 7-10, 2006, at the
Qingdao International Convention Center in Qingdao, China. The show
is the largest consumer electronics event in China and the only
one endorsed by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, the Chinese Ministry
of Information Industry, the Chinese Ministry of Science Technology,
and the State Council.
With China's continued economic growth and
integral role in the global economy, CEA recently published The
International Insiders Series: Opportunities in China, focusing
on key opportunities and strategies for CE companies looking to
expand into the Chinese marketplace.
