TV One announces its manufacturing facility in Europe is RoHS Compliant (18/7/2006)

All TV One products sold in Europe are 100% fully RoHS compliant.

From the beginning of July 2006 all products manufactured by TV One for the European market comply fully to the new RoHS directive, ensuring that the premium technology offered by TV One is now housed in the best possible quality for the environment.

The new RoHS (Restriction of the use of Certain Hazardous Substances) directive was implemented by the European Union on 1st July 2006 and limits the use of specific materials in the manufacture of electronic and electrical equipment such as lead and cadmium. This has resulted in a complete upgrade of TV One's manufacturing facility in order to accommodate these new restrictions.

"TV One is committed to having all TV One products as the preferred choice for our customers as well as for the environment," says Steven Mattingly, General Manager of TV One Europe. "We have withdrawn some products as they could not be upgraded to meet RoHS requirements and we are introducing our completely new 1T-C2 and C2-1000 series."

It has taken two years of hard work for TV One to complete the transition to RoHS compliancy as not only was it necessary to upgrade the production facilities at the UK manufacturing plant, but it also required sourcing of premium-quality components from suppliers who are also fully compliant with the new directive. Steven Mattingly confirms, "It has been a long journey for us at TV One, but we fully support the directive and are very proud to be able to say that our products meet the highest international environmental standards."
