ELAN Home System Announces V883 Shipping Ahead of Schedule (18/7/2006)

ELAN Component Video Switcher Now Shipping One Month Earlier than Targeted

ELAN Home Systems, a leading manufacturer of award-winning Multi-Room audio/video and home control systems, announced today that the company's new V883 component video switcher, which debuted at ELAN's inaugural Tech Week in May, has already begun to ship to Dealers one month ahead of schedule. The V883 can independently route up to 8 component video sources to 8 TVs/monitors over long distances. The announcement was made by Bob Farinelli, ELAN's President and Chief Technology Officer.

Featuring eight sets of component video inputs and outputs, the V883 lets users distribute all of their component video sources, such as DVD, DVR, satellite TV and more, independently to up to eight different TVs and/or monitors in as many rooms. The V883's unity gain design and high definition chip set ensures that whatever content is piped into the V883 is delivered to its viewing destination with the exact same quality generated at its source. The V883 also distributes standard composite video from non-component sources such as CCTV cameras and VCRs.

"We are extremely pleased with the efficiency in which the V883 went from production to shipping," stated Mr. Farinelli. "That turnaround time speaks volumes for our people here and the processes we implement when producing a new product. The V883 will fill the void for affordable eight by eight component video solutions, and we see this as a very strong, new solution for our Dealers."

Controllable via RS-232 or IR, the V883 integrates seamlessly with any whole-house system, allowing users one-touch access to all their video sources from any touch panel, keypad or remote control. In an ELAN multi-room system, all of the V883's control commands reside in ELAN's system setup software and can be automatically built into the system's programming, making it a breeze to configure even the most complex component video switching routines. The V883's flexibility allows you to send component video signals up to 300 feet over RG-6 coaxial cable, or up to 500 feet over Cat-5 cable when used in conjunction with ELAN's CVWP component video wall plate kit. Up to four V883 units can be linked together to provide an 8-source by 32-TV/monitor component video switching matrix.

The V883 is available through ELAN Dealers at an unmatched MSRP of $2,200.
