Invision UK Showcases Xperinet Entertainment Servers
- A Breakthrough for the Digital Home (27/6/2006)
CEDIA UK Expo 2006
Recently released interface modules for AMX
and Crestron to debut at CEDIA Expo 2006
The Xperinet System is an easy to control
and operate entertainment server which revolutionises the way homeowners
can collect and manage their growing DVD/CD collections, and will
form the centrepiece of a digital AV home entertainment system.
Designed for easy installation and integration,
the Xperinet Entertainment Server is a dependable, affordable and
extremely user-friendly solution. Each movie can be instantly selected
by Title, Actor, Director, Genre, censorship rating and year of
release, from anywhere in the home. Cover art and movie descriptions
are also available on screen.
Two different Xperinet models will be demonstrated
at CEDIA Expo 2006 - the Polaris and Poseidon. Each differ in their
hard drive storage capacities and the number of simultaneous, independent
viewing and listening locations they support.
The entry-level 1.5 Terabyte Polaris has
sufficient storage for 300 DVDs and a suggested retail price (excluding
installation) of £6,950 including VAT. The Poseidon model can provide
greater storage, if required, for larger DVD collections (up to
800DVDs). All models stream video and audio content over an Ethernet
network to a complementary A/V output decoder - the Taurus/Orion
Client - for playback. You will need a Taurus/Orion Client for each
viewing /listening location.
Once installed, there need be no more arguments
about what to watch or listen to, as different audio and video programmes
can be selected for playback at the same time, at each location
the server supports. The MIRV Server and Taurus/Orion Client can
be configured via an infra-red control using an onscreen display
or an RS-232/IP automation control interface. Interface modules
for AMX(tm) and Crestron(tm) are also available.
