Living Control's CVX-S matrix switcher adds HD video distribution to luxury multi-room system (9/6/2006)

Stand B4, CEDIA UK Expo 2006

Leading multi-room innovator Living Control announces the release of the CVX-S Component and Composite video matrix switcher, which supports 480i/p and 720p/1080i HD video.

With the CVX-S on a Living Control multi-room system, HD video from a Sky HD box and other HD sources can be viewed simultaneously in any of six rooms (zones) around the home. Linked to Living Control's 'Afinity' series RoomBox6 or RoomBox6VX Central Processing Units (CPUs), the CVX-S will distribute a range of video resolutions and formats, including HD video, to six rooms, with the source selected by name from Living Control's compact dˇcor-matching in-room touch-screen panels.

The CVX-S is a 6-in/6-out Component and Composite Video matrix switcher with buffered video inputs (two with integral SCART RGBS and CVBS translation) and outputs incorporating high quality gain circuitry, permitting cable runs of up to 152m. Additionally, the CVX-S offers 6 x RJ45 CAT5 outputs for the similarly long range distribution of Component (YPbPr) and Composite Video (CVBS). Living Control recommends that the maximum range for CAT 5 HD video is 60m due to variance in cable quality. The CAT5 distributed signal is converted back to 4 x RCA sockets (YPbPr + CVBS) using a local passive outlet plate.

Living Control's CVX-S adds high quality video from a choice of cable/satellite boxes (such as Sky HD and Sky+), DVD and VCR sources to the wide selection of audio entertainment options (including digital/analogue radio, CD, MP3 and iPod(r)) available from Living Control's luxury multi-room media systems.

Availability: May 2006

Approx Retail Price: £ 2300
Local CAT5 to Component outlet (ACVXSWP): £155 ea
