Genelec expands product line with five new three-way
models for home theatre sound (31/5/2006)
Stand D11, CEDIA UK Expo 2006
Emphasising its ongoing commitment to the
high-end home theatre and consumer audio markets, Genelec Oy, designer
and manufacturer of high quality home theatre systems, is showing
an expanded product line that includes five new three-way active
speakers.
The new models include: the HT312A (12"),
HT315A (15"), HT320AC (dual 10" centre channel), HT324A (dual 12")
and HT324AC (dual 12" centre channel).
The new models are a direct result of feedback
from distributors and leading high-end home theatre installers,
who told Genelec there was a need for a high impact listening experience
for the larger home theatre/multi-media room and any surround sound
environment measuring up to 13,000 cubic feet (H x W x D).
Like all Genelec active home theatre systems,
the new speakers employ Genelec's proprietary Directivity Control
Waveguide Technology(TM) (DCW(TM)), which provides excellent stereo
imaging and frequency balance even in difficult acoustic environments.
In addition, all models are magnetically
shielded, feature lower noise electronics, a Signal Sensing Auto-On/Off
Circuit, new crossover electronics and a 12V/contact closure strip
for interface with AMX, Crestron or other home automation systems.
The amp panels include a dipswitch pack that allows the installer
to turn the LED indicator on or off. If ON is selected, there is
another dipswitch that enables all LED functions to show standby
(yellow) and overload (red) or only standby. All models are available
in Genelec's matt black finish.
The HT312A is a three-way active speaker
with a 12" woofer, 5" midrange (loaded with Genelec's DCW), and
a 1" metal dome tweeter. It features an integrated electronic crossover
and amplifiers (180W, 120W and 120W). It has a frequency response
of 37Hz to 21kHz, a maximum SPL of 126dB and measures 680mm (26
3/4") H x 400mm (15 3/4") W x 380mm (15") D.
The HT315A is a three-way active speaker
with a 15" woofer, 5" midrange (loaded with Genelec's DCW), and
a 1" metal dome tweeter. It features an integrated electronic crossover
and amplifiers (400W, 120W and 120W). It has a frequency response
of 35Hz to 20kHz, a maximum SPL of 124dB and measures 810mm (31.7/8")
H x 480mm (18 7/8") W x 420mm (16 9/16" D).
The HT320AC is a dedicated centre channel,
three-way active speaker with dual 10" woofers, a 5" midrange and
a 1" metal dome tweeter. Both the 5" midrange and 1" tweeter are
mounted in a DCW for optimized directivity control. The HT320AC
features an integrated electronic crossover and amplifiers (2 x
200W, 120W and 120W). It has a frequency response of 35Hz to 20kHz,
a maximum SPL of 124dB and measures 350mm (13 3/4") 950mm (37 3/8")
H x 453mm (17 7/8") D.
The HT324A is a three-way active speaker
with dual 12" woofers, 5" midrange and a 1" metal dome tweeter.
Both the 5" midrange and 1" tweeter are mounted in a DCW for optimized
directivity control. The HT324A features an integrated electronic
crossover and amplifiers (2 x 200W, 350W and 120W). It has a frequency
response of 33Hz to 20kHz, a maximum SPL in excess of 125dB and
measures 700mm (27 9/16") H x 890mm (35") W x 383mm (15 1/16") D.
The HT324AC is the largest dedicated centre
channel speaker in the Genelec Home Theatre line. It is a three-way
active speaker with dual 12" woofers, a 5" midrange and a 1" metal
dome tweeter. Like the HT324A, the HT324AC's 5" midrange and 1"
tweeter are also mounted in a DCW for optimized directivity control.
The speaker features an integrated electronic crossover and amplifiers
(2 x 400W, 350W and 120W). It has a frequency response of 33Hz to
20kHz, a maximum SPL of 125dB and measures 890mm (19 1/4") H x 1210mm
(47 5/8") W x 412mm (16 1/4") D.
These new products complement the full range
of Genelec Home Theatre products, which currently includes: the
6020A, HT205, HT206B, HT208B and HT210B Two-Way Bi-Amplified Active
Loudspeakers; the 5050A, HTS3B, HTS4B and HTS6 Active Subwoofers;
and the AIW26 Active In-Wall Speaker System.
