Pace launches free-to-air HD satellite set-top box
in time for World Cup (31/5/2006)
Pace Micro Technology is today announcing
the launch of its high definition (HD) free-to-air satellite set-top
box - giving viewers in the UK the ability to watch the latest HD
content, such as the forthcoming FIFA World Cup matches being broadcast
by the BBC.
To enjoy free-to-air HD content, viewers
will need a satellite dish pointed to 19.2 or 28.2 (with BBC HD
satellite programming only available on the latter feed) and an
HD-Ready television set to watch the content.
UK customers can buy this HD set-top box
directly from Pace at www.PaceShop.com or via their local independent
retailer. For information on suppliers in your area, please visit
www.PaceMICRO.com/DS810XE.
The Pace HD box will retail around £299.
Designed with a contemporary and stylish
look, this innovative set-top box is suited to the modern home,
where cutting edge technology is prevalent.
The Pace HD set-top box comes with DiSEqC
1.2, for easier satellite scanning and programming, and a CI slot
for use with a range of leading conditional access systems, such
as Irdeto, Nagravision, Conax, Viaccess and CryptoWorks.
The Pace HD set-top box is one of the first
in the world to use advanced H.264 HD hardware decoding to deliver
superb quality pictures while making the most efficient use of available
broadcasting bandwidth. The Pace HD set-top box uses new technologies,
such as DVB-S2, to improve bandwidth efficiency by up to 30%, and
HDMI with HDCP for secure connectivity to HD-Ready displays.
* Please note - the Pace DS810XE HD set-top
box is not available for payTV HD programmes.
