ReQuest Introduces Two New AudioReQuest Music Servers (24/5/2006)

S. Series reference standard model and F. Series addition join lineup

ReQuest, the industry leader in music-server and videomanagement hardware and software designs for home entertainment and media systems, is making two important additions to its AudioReQuest family of hard-disk-based music servers. With the debut of the all-new, high-end S.Series. ReQuest establishes a new benchmark for music-server performance and capacity. At the same time, ReQuest announces a higher-capacity new model to join the popular and widely praised F.Series family.

New S.Series S4.2500

The new S.Series S4.2500 sets a new reference standard for AudioReQuest with audiophile sound, expanded storage for CDs, and a stunning industrial design. The sound quality of the four zones is ensured by audiophile digital and analog circuit designs including balanced XLR outputs for all three analog-zone outputs, and even the pro-level touch of an AES/EBU digital output with separate word-clock output for Zone 1 in addition to the conventional S/PDIF digital out.

With 1.5 terabytes of memory, the S4.2500 can store the contents of more than 2,500 CDs in completely uncompressed WAV format, or more than 360,000 songs in MP3 format. The S4.2500 cabinet is a contemporary design in a new signature silver-matte finish with an etched-glass center window. Weighing i60 lbs, this component is rack-mountable if desired, or it can be displayed in a place of honor that showcases the powerful convenience and accessibility of music-server functionality in a form that will prove attractive to even the most serious music-library collector.

New F.Series F4.800

Another model being simultaneously introduced is ReQuest's new F4.800 Music Server. Joining the tremendously successful AudioReQuest F.Series,. The F4.800 becomes that lineup's largest-capacity model, with storage for up to 4,000 CDs worth of music (MP3/320), or the equivalent of more than 800 discs- in uncompressed WAV format.

Both the S. Series S4.2500 and F. Series F4.800 feature four fully independent audio outputs, and the ability to stream high-quality stereo audio to any or all simultaneously, with no additional hardware beyond amp and speakers for each remote room or zone. Like all AudioReQuest music servers, both offer a wide variety of music-encoding options including completely uncompressed WAV and FLAC formats for uncompromised, fully transparent audio performance. They also feature ReQuest's new ARQ v.2.2.0 software which delivers a consistent, Flash-based user interface whether on a video monitor, touch panel, or from a Web browser or handheld, from any location in the system or, via the Internet expanding control to any location around the world. Additionally, both the S.Series and F.Series music servers permit multiple units to be incorporated into a system, adding capacity, music content backup and additional zone capability. The S.Series and F.Series music servers also support multi-locations, via ARQLink, permitting end users to have access to their music collection in different homes.
